Toshiba 30HF84 Picture Doubling and Shaking

All of a sudden, all inputs on our Toshiba 30HF84 show a picture that is slightly doubled and shaking/vibrating. Any hope for it, or is it now junk?

Check its main power regulator section for any faulty capacitors.

SOURCE: Are audio boards still avaiable for toshiba 30hf84

I have a Panasonic with a defective audio output, and found a cheap alternative to an impossible to repair problem.

Mine still had audio if I connected headphones to it, but the speakers would get nothing. I found that a decent set of computer speakers (with sub woofer) worked great, and I could move the speakers to provide awesome stereo. Sub woofer is behind the TV.

I did a quick look and did not see an audio specific board available. Likely, it's part of the main board and not cheap to replace.

I hope you can use my fix. It's actually a better sound now than original.

Can I reset my Toshiba 30HF84 without a remote

Since most passwords require a number sequence to be entered I doubt it can be done without the original remote and the correct code numbers.

Can't change input - don't have remote

Unless there is a source or input button on the set you need the original remote.

Picture is blurry

Check first if you have not done so to see if the same issue when playing a DVD connected to one of the rear audio and video inputs.

Also let me know if using a box for signal as it could be the issue.

Yelloiw & blue lines outline characters causing a doubling affect

You have a bad convergence board. You will need to replace two convergence ICs and a few low ohm resistors.

Picture settings messed up!

Loose cable or wrong setting. Channel, input type, etc. Also. make sure the audio isn't plugged into the video input [either end]
