Every button I press including the on and off button won't respond. But I know it can turn on because when I replace the battery it takes me to the main menu. The only problem I can think of is that I held the blackberry when my hands were wet. Ever since then it hasn't worked.
I have the same problem. What is up with this?! It seems as though everything is working, except the buttons do not respond when pressed. I can receive incoming calls, but the "send" button won't register in order for me to answer the calls. I have restarted the phone several times, with no success. My provider is Verizon.
I would be thrilled if there was an easy solution to this...highly unlikely though, huh?
Had the same problem my curves key pad did not respond at all after researching and investigating i found this is apperantly a very common problem and found only one place that had an answere most do not know about the curves soft reset ability in other words reseting the phone without removing the battery this opperation can be performed by simultaniously holding down three keys the Alt,theshift or aA up arrow ,and the del buttons all together u may have to try it a few times for it to work and once it has your red power light at the top will flash once the screen lights up again repeat the process five or six times to ensure it is reloading all info stored and lastley if a soft reset does not work attempt to do a hard reset by removing the battery while ur power is on still but leave it out longer than 30 seconds i left my battery out for about 5 min then reinstalled it and now all is well in bb world once more remeber your bb is basic but still a pc none the less and as such it is a good practice to do a reset periodically to ensure the quallity of the bb functioning best wishes and i hope this is able to help you if not whatever u do don't attempt to take the bb apart unless u r trained pro because it should have a one year warranty on it and any thing u attempt to do on ur own will void the warranty
Sorry i acually had to take mine in and have them give me a new one same problem , i went out dancing and put phone in my boot , and well it didnt make it to next day . try holing down the botton on top of phone for few seconds . if that dont work sorry getting a new one . since the bottons dont work you loose all contacts . everything it sucked .
Akio - the easiest solution will be able to take the phone to a mobile service center and have them service the phones keyboard for you to make it work again.
jason + guest - the phone needs to be fully service then take the phone to a mobile repair center and have that done.
Did it get wet at all? there is an area under the track ball that goes bad if it get's wet. Cleaning that area with a brush can sometime get it up and running again. try to remove the trackball and clean the area below it if necessary. There is a Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to open a Blackberry and remove the track ball yourself.
Take ur ball out and clean it

same problem since putting my phone in my pocket while snow skiing. caused condensation to appear under screen. receiving calls and texts but cannot respond due to inoperable keyboard.
same thing. got it wet and can't do anything but watch it tell me i have messages and watch it tell me i have a call.
My curve has the same issue. Verizon is sending me a replacement again. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me.
I have the same problem. I was hiking and had my Verizon BB Curve in an inside pocket away from the elements. However some condensation (sweat) got on the screen and it quit working. I can receive calls, emails, texts; but I can not respond to them at all or answer the calls. Very frustrating since the BB is so sensitive.
MY BLACKBERRY 8330 HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE DAY IT WORKS JUST FINE, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY BUTTONS DOES NOT WORK. IAM ALSO W/ VERIZON.
Phone turns on and I can scroll up or down but, the phone doesn't respond to key pad or scroll ball when hitting select.
I have exactly the same problem with my BB Curve! Help!
same problem it works sometimes but not others, was not that long ago when i fist got it wet but it seems like it doesn't work on rainy/humid days and when the buttons do work i can text just fine but when i answer a call or make a call i cant hear anything and the people I'm trying to talk to cant hear me
I had the exact same problem you just described - I could have written it myself. It happened after I picked up my phone and read a text message while I was in the shower. I was careful not to get the phone wet so I didn't think this was the cause but maybe it was, since my fingers were obviously wet when handling it. I brought my Blackberry to Tmobile where I purchased it, and they replaced it for me (it was still under warranty). I made sure to transfer my photos and videos from my phone to my computer before I made the switch to the new phone.Â
AHHH i have the same problem! the ball moves to the sides, but nothing else works! its still flashing at me because i have a text, and it receives my other texts, but i cant even read them! it is so annoying! i have this phone and verizon, too!Â
Same. I'm irate that I am spending this month monthly for a "better" phone when, in fact, my RAZR was a completely fine choice. I am sitting here helpless like the rest of you.
BB, I don't get how you can sleep at night knowing that all of us can't because you didn't design your phone well enough.
