Try this: find the BIOS reset jumper on motherboard and switch it to on, then after 10 seconds switch it back. then disconnect floppy cables then boot system then enter BIOS setup [F2 or DELETE keys], then "enter the BIOS and look for detect floppy disc and dis-able and ensure that the HDD0 is set as first boot device in standard cmos settings...per sandrew" if success, then problem with floppy drive or cable setup.

HI if your floppy light stays on all the time your floppy cable must be installed wrong, be sure that the red line is line up on the pin one side of both the floppy ide on the motherboard and also on the floppy itself. also make sure you don't have a floppy disk inserted in the drive.

Disconnect drive 'A' floppy drive and see if it will boot up without it connected. It may be that the floppy is faulty if you know the ide cable is on the correct way round, as your pc may be set to halt on all errors

assuming you have no floppy disc in drive.

On boot up press F2 Del and enter the bios and look for detect floppy disc and dissable and ensure that the HDD0 is set as first boot device in standard cmos settings.

press F10 to save and exit and allow a re boot of the pc.

COMPUTER DOSENT TURN ON JUST GREEN LIGHT FLASHES

Dear Elvira,
You have to disconnet your power supply from the mains by pulling out power cord then the open the side pan of your cabinet and locate the ram.remove the ram and resit it in another slot. then connect your power cord to the power supply of your pc then switch on.
If the problem is not solved then again remove the power cord and remove the cmos battery from the motherboard and wait for 20 seconds, then put it back.and power on the system. if the problem is not solved then try with another powe supply.still problem is there then your motherboard may be bad.you have to replace the motherboard.

Just now i shut down my computer normally, an hour later when i tried switching it on again i cannot, the monitor dosent show any image, it even not shows the BIOS, the fan tuns just for a while and then...

It sounds like a hardware problem. Check the obvious like the power cables and plug it into a different wall socket to make sure that isn't the problem.

Does the computer beep when it starts up. The pattern of these 'POST' beeps can help you determine the problem. However if the computer doesn't beep, doesn't activate the BIOS and the hard drive doesn't spin up (with the HD light flickering) then you either have a fried motherboard or processor. Not an easy or cheap thing to fix.

Does it show up as a removable drive, it should. If the computer "sees it" but the software dosent, try this.

Go to Disk Manager and find the drive it thinks it is and verify by un pluging and re pluging . Reassign this drive letter to one that is not used, further down the alphabet, away from any mapped drives.

I have run into this on several ocasions and this is the fix to get its own (always) drive letter.
