It seems like that your pc is old when you work on it procesdor heats and fans cools but in your case it is overheating your lapy need service open laptop and clear the dust near fan if you are a expert then apply cooling paste on processor head or change the heat sink

take battery out, unplug ac adapter. Wait one minute. leave battery out. Plug in ac adapter and turn on laptop. Once it turns back on. Shut down laptop and put battery back in. Now you should be able to turn laptop on with or without battery.

Probably a voltage regulator, they are usually available on ebay, but I suggest having it done at a repair centre.
