It was working fine this afternoon, we turned it off left for a few hours and only the sound will come on now. The activity selection will not come up, and after a few minutes it shuts itself off and the green light turns red.
Have a look first at the lamp to see if it is intact.

Your lamp has expired, replace it and make sure that you reset the lamp to 0 after replacement.

I had the same problem last year - it was, indeed the bulb. At the time the tv was still under warranty and Mitsubishi sent me a replacement bulb.

This tv has self diagnostic feature that will show last error through front light blinks, there is procedure to activate and read out error code to diagnose problem section of tv to solve its issue so to get tv back in business.
