There doesnt seem to be a setting in the synaptics touchpad menu for this so you will have to reset the touch pad, go to my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down list to mice and other pointing devices. Click on it and you should see synaptics touchpad, right click, and select uninstal. Restart laptop and the driver will re install synaptics driver and set it back to default.

How to perform scroll function in laptop without mouse in Dell vostro

Your touch pad should do the trick.
They are called "Gestures". They are set to active by default. If it's not. Go to "Control panel > click "mouse" and find "touch pad". There you will find "Gestures". Activate it.
1. Put two fingers on the touch pad and try to move both fingers up or down. Learn how to scroll up and down.
2. Move those fingers side ways. This should do the "Horizontal" scroll.
There are others, like:
Put one finger stationary and rotate the other. This rotates the orientation of the object.
Try it and good luck.

The touch can move the arrow pointer about but it just cannot click and activate selected item

hello ,
you should download the driver from http://support.acer.com/us/en/product_support.aspx?tab=1

Click here Netbook> aspire >AOD 250>select your os> and download touch pad software.
If you install windows 7 no need to install touch pad software.
