You will need to look for water line leaks but water in small amounts can also come from a defrosting drip pan. The dust and fuzz that get into these things over the years also can cause water to go where it is not suppose to.
The water is spraying form the copper tubing right next to the compressor. It is not the water line from the house - it is the internal workings of the fridge that has failed. The copper must have multiple pin holes in it. I hope this is just one bad section and not the entire copper tubing line that goes under the fridge. It is not a drip but a forceful spray -like it is pressurized. It is spraying on the compressor and switch or relay thing whenever the water is dispensed. The water is turned off for now. I have never seen anything like this ! Thanks for your help :)

"jennycub" sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine. very common problem( easy to detect. water on the floor of freezer compartment) as far as the other posting by" humblerumble", ive seen where the drain tube under the refig has pushed a hole into the drain pan under the refrig, in which case it will only leak after a defrost cycle, with the kickplate removed grab a flashlight and look under the unit for the drain pan as you pur water into the back of the freezer sect to trace water flow

This is not normal. The coolant charge is low which means it leaked out some where. Return it.

Cut off a piece of line and go to a good hardware store, they can show you how to fix it. Need a coupling, and a nut and ferrel. House water line goes on one end of coupling, nut and ferrel on the broken water line on fridge. A good hardware store will be able to show you how to fix.

Has this fridge got an ice maker???
Because ice makers require a water supply to make ice.
This could be where your water is coming from.

I know of two possible causes for water leaking other than the ice maker and water dispenser water supply.
Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use
and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater
comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost
drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the
freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.
Your drain tube
may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow
because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit
at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the
top a little pressure with a turkey baster
will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may
help.
When a water filter gets stopped up, the water can bypass straight to the drain pan underneath and overflow

Thanks for the clarification but the copper tube that feeds the water dispenser in the unit or even the Ice maker can become too stressed due to tight bends. I think this is a job for a plumber. If you trace where the line goes it probably tape a water pipe somewhere. The plumber might just replace the line section that is spraying water with a compression fitting union. Do you have any plumber friends from church or some such place to help you out?
