My Timex T621T keeps adjusting for Daylight Savings Time

The clock has a feature to automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time. It's programmed to jump forward an hour on the 1st Sunday of April. Since DST dates were changed this year, we had to manually change the time on 3/11/07. Of course, on 4/1, the first Sunday, the clock did it's thing & bumped the time forward. We corrected it manually. Today is the 2nd Sunday of April and it has once again adjusted the time forward one hour. It is still set to the Easter Std Time zone (Z02), so I'm not sure why it would be doing this. We've had the clock for about 16 months and this was not a problem last year with either the start or end of DST. Has anyone seen this happen with their clock, same or similar model? If so, what was your solution? There isn't an option to turn off the DST adjust feature.

Don't know the solution but we have the same problem. The darn thing keeps jumping ahead one hour. It is such a hassle to unscrew the top - all the buttons fall off -- and then set - We will never buy a Timex again - Who ever heard of a DST savings setting you cannot turn off?? B Bray

SOURCE: Turning daylight saving time OFF

Unfortunately, you cannot turn it off.  You'll have to manually set it forward or backward to make up for its settings.  This means having to adjust the time four times a year.  Twice in the spring (once to counter the old DST settings and the other to accomodate the new DST) and twice in the fall.  This is what the manual has to say about DST:

Daylight-Saving Time and Leap Year Adjustments

This unit will automatically adjust the clock at the beginning and end of Daylight-Saving Time each year. It will

also adjust the month/day display for leap year automatically.

This unit automatically advances one hour at the start of Daylight-Saving Time on the first Sunday of April, and

moves back one hour at the end of Daylight-Saving Time on the last Sunday of October. If you live in an area

that does not observe Daylight-Saving Time, it will be necessary for you to manually adjust the clock back one

hour at the beginning of Daylight-Saving Time and forward one hour at the end of Daylight-Saving Time.

SOURCE: I am having the same problem.

According to the Timex web site: We apologize but there is no patch available. Consumers must change clocks manually. Due to newly enacted government regulations, effective this year you must change the time manually, since the calendar was programmed to change according to the time DST issued by the government, it will not recognize the change after 2007. Now the time must be changed 4 times. Press & hold the time set button until the time flash, then release it and press the ff >> or << rev buttons.

Does timer 15071 automatically adjust for changing daylight length in addition to adjusting for daylight savings time?

GE 15071 sold at Home Depot and on-line has feature that adjusts for daylight savings time.
GE 15086 does not offer automatic adjustment for DST
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15071

Daylight savings time (DST) is not same as dawn-to-dusk astronomical timer.
GE 15071 and 15086 single-pole timers do not have dawn to dusk astronomical feature.

For single-pole dusk-dawn astronomical with DST, Lowes sells Utilitec-0192773
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

For 3-way switching, 7-day DST -or- dawn-dusk astronomical:

HELLO MY CLOCK DID NOT DO AUTO DAYLIGHT TIME HOW DO I FIX THE TIME TO ADJUST TO ONE HOUR A HEAD THANK YOU INGER WELCH

All you need to do to advance your clock an hour for daylight savings time, is hold down your clock button without letting it go. Then press your hour button once and you should be all set.
Most clocks that are older than when they changed the date of daylight savings time will either not change it for you on the right day anymore. Or they don't have that feature in it.
If yours does have an automatic daylight savings feature...you may find it helpful to take it off "automatic" and just change it manually from now on. That's what I do with my VCR. It has an automatic daylight savings time feature, but it's useless now that they have changed the date when we set our clocks for DST.
Some manufacturers will give you instructions on how to change the feature settings so your product will again work correctly for you. But not all will or can. You can look it up at your manufacturers website to know for sure.
Good Luck...and I hope this helps you.

There is a solution for this already. You can reprogram the clock to use the new DST settings.

Emerson Research SmartSet Clock Radio

There was a sheet of paper that came with my clock explaining how to adjust the daylight savings time settings, but I lost it.  Anyone have theirs?  All i know is it requires that you press an awkward combination of buttons simultaneously, but that's it.

Turning daylight saving time OFF

If DST is *already* set to "on" when you reset the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii), my very recent experience is that the time *still gets adjusted back* by one hour.  Now that daylight savings time is over (at least according to the clock's pre-programmed and outdated schedule) I'm hoping that setting the time zone to Z-07 (Hawaii) will completely cancel the automatic time changes from now on.  Otherwise, I need to purchase another clock, and it won't be a Timex.
