Is it an LCD or Plasma screen display?
If it's an LCD, the LCD could be shot.

    It is a plasma screen, not and LCD screen, besides, I have connected the output to an external monitor and nothing shows on that too, so I am sure it has nothing to do with the screen

    No it doesnt even boot all, just the power indicator lights

    It could be your charger, or battery. Probably is your motherboard.

Hi Jim,

this seems like a no boot / no video kind off issue and mostly is coz of corruptions in softwares or drivers, try booting the computer in safe mode. if it does, then take a data backup. i would not recommend experimenting in this issue as it can crash the computer.

Can we have some more details? What happens when you push the power button once? Do lights come on? Does it make any noise? Is it plugged into a working electrical socket? Do you get any kind of a screen on the monitor, even a blue screen?

Acer Aspire 7520 black screen wont boot
Turn off notebook. Remove the battery. Press Power button. Notebook should start working. Wait for 15 secs. If the screen still blank press Power button and hold it for approx. 4 seconds until notebook is powered off. Then press power button again. Bingo, problem should be solved.

Try taking the battery out and booting it on AC power only, if it boots up turn it back off and reinsert the battery, turn the computer on, if it boots up all good, if not please post back.
