Ten years old Videocon TVs are fitted with Toshiba kit. Just desolder out the LOT from the board and go for a new one, with that old LOT as a sample with you. It is very difficult to give you the exact LOT number, as you haven't had the model number of it. Anyway, it will be available in the local market. OK.

Trinitron sony model KV-27FV17 tv will not come on it is in standby mode

usually after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to tube ) becomes weak - then TV won't get ON.. means no picture no sound ..but LED blinks - in some TVs along with EHT 1 or 2 components like resistor, transistors, etc will also gets deffective ............... so solution is TV circuit board has to be checked to find whether only EHT is deffective or other components are also deffective - price of EHT will be between Rs.250 (US$ 5) to Rs.600 ( US$ 12) ........iam from bangalore (09986222774, [email protected] ) .....i don't have any idea about EHT component's price & service charge in your area........this problem cannot be solved by user unless user is a technical person having idea about components (resistors, transistors,diodes,...etc..), having multimeter , soldering iron & other tools...so my suggestion call TV service engineer or contact sony service centre.........

Sony kv 32hs500 after blinking does not work.it makes a ticks noise and after 7 blinking does not turn on.

1st POSSIBILITY - usually after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to tube ) becomes weak - then TV won't get ON.. means no picture no sound ( in some TVs ''garrrr'' like sound comes - but it is rare) ..... but LED blinks - in some TVs along with EHT 1 or 2 components like resistor, transistors, etc will also gets deffective

2nd POSSIBILITY - main capacitor (very big in size) is blowing off

i think in your case main capacitor is blown

- so solution is TV circuit board has to be checked to find whether only EHT is deffective or other components are also deffective - price of EHT will be between Rs.250 (US$ 5) to Rs.600 (US$ 12) & price of capacitor will be between Rs.50 (US$1 ) to Rs.150 (US$3)

I have a sony TV model KV-28ls36u, the problem was, when power is turned-ON, the LED blinks 11 times, what would be the best solution for this and where can I get a service Manual. Please help. Thanks

No Display, no sound- not working, showing dead. But input Power is ok. Picture tube filamment not getting power. model sony KV-2192M3

Check the input fuse first. If it is blown, there will be some short inside the power regulator circuit. Usually Sony sets uses STR regulated power supply. You can see this STR, and Ic, screwed onto a heatsink. Replace it with a same type and number. Before replacing the STR, check the diodes used in that section for damage, mainlu zener diodes. They might get shorted along the blowing of the STR. Check that section throughly before resoldering the new STR.

The tech is very likely correct. The EHT or flyback transformer can develop hairline cracks that allow leakage of high voltage that exists in this circuit. There are other related components that can also cause this, but the transformer is the most likely. This area in the set also builds up allot of dust also due to the high voltages and this aggravates the issue. I do not recommend operating the set very long this way as it may begin arcing inside and cause more components to fail. Replacing the part would depend on how much you want to invest in the unit. Get an estimate and go from there. Good luck.

That model number is not correct. What is an EHT? Must mean HVT High voltage transformer. If this set is 26 inch or smaller replace it. If larger yes replace the transformer.

The color is fading in our KV-32FV26 Sony Wega The TV is approx 3 years old.

my sont tv model no. KV-XF21M83 (21 in's) indicator lamp flashes red a number of times between 3 secounds interval
the color of the tv has gone faded. The channels name on the top right or left side is not seen properly
The EHT is sparking near the picture tube.
