I know the lense is clean, so don´t know what might be wrong with it.
And also, my system is a region 1 system, but I leave down south (MX)in the border with California (US), I don´t have problems whith the region, but I got on my birthday last week, the god father threelogy, and two ather movies, on a region 4, I can´t change the movies in the store they got them from, is there a way I can make my sistem work in both regions 1 and 4..?

Re: dvd region usege
Nope sorry there is not a way to change regions. On the door problem there seems to be a problem with the timing of the gears or mechanism that closes the door system. Good luck

DVD players have 5 regions. And on the back of every DVD you buy the region code is marked in side a circle ( like a globe ). Region 1 is North America Region 2 is Europe . Middle East & South Africa Region 3 is South East Asia, Region 4 is South America, Mexico, Australia Region 5 is India , USSR, Africa. To change the region code of your Lifestyle 38 DVD player follow the steps given below. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the buttons on the remote and not fumble while keying in the sequence given below. Make sure there is no disc in the tray of the player and it is closed ( tray ).
First step - Press RIGHT arrow, UP arrow, SHUFFLE, STOP, MUTE
To change to a specific region code Step two --- Open the disc tray Step three --Press STOP Step four --- Press SHUFFLE Step five ---. Press # key for desired region from the list given above. Step six ---- Press ENTER. Turn off the DVD player wait for a 10 seconds and restart. It should work. Enjoy your foreign DVD's. Cheers!!.
Yeah you are in a different region and there are regional codes on DVDs so it wont play the American disc probably. There may be a way in the menu to change your regional code
I think you will have to take it to an electronic repair shop where the board and lens will most likely be changed to another one that can play a multi region.
I have the same issue, along with a Rear Check issue at power up, and the fan stopped working about a month ago, so three strikes and your out, I would not recommend this product due to the quality. My Oniko was purchased years ago and is still going strong, I moved to an apartment and wanted the wireless ease with the back speakers, never again with this brand. My Samsung LCD is acting up now too, it is only 15 months old, and won't power up right away takes like 5 attempts, unreal
Many DVD players can be unlocked but you need the model number to be able to find the correct region hack Once you have that a quick google for "region hack sony model#" will give you a good jumpingoff point but beware many people want money for these simple hacks so persevere on your search and you will find pages that list the FREE hacks
get a DVD lens cleaning disc(kit).. and use it once in three months... use your player once in three days to maintain its fitness.. if you still have a problem in display drop a mail to [email protected]
I am not sure if you can change the region of your DVD player, but there is a way around it. You can make your DVD region free by copying them using a certain software. It will remove copy protection and make them region free. You use it on your computer and it runs in the background allowing your normal copy software to copy any DVD reguarless of copy protection. I have been using this for years and it works great. They also have copy software that give you complete control over what is copied, but that is not required, but it does help to amke higher quality copies by removing the previews and such so ther is more room for the movie. I wish I had a better answer, but this will work in removing the region codes so it will play on any DVD player. Here is a link to get that software, you can try it for 21 days free before you but it to see if it is something you like.
