First All Check:
1.Confirm whether same sim card is working in other h.s or not.
2.Make sure the sim slot is o.k. only try these two.
3.If all the above steps fails, check the SIM card connector pins for damage.
if so try to get serviced.
4.if ur sim card is good then it is problum form sim card ic u have u raplace it with SMD.
u can make it jumper mean u can fix this prob with out sim card is for this contact.
5.take sim connector slight up by pin then cheak by inserting sim.
6.hot air gun on sim i.c. then cheak it.
Last Option:
IF make sure that the sim card hasn't been damamged at all sO Please You Go to Service
& Sim Office and Get the Duplicate Sim Same Your No From Office Oprator

My Samsung star ii phone shows 'insert simcard error' message even when simcard is inserted.
Try to look for a rubber eraser and rub it on the simcard interface. Also, I want to ask if you have dropped your phone which may cause the error. I would also suggest you to change simcard if you get the same error message so we can identify if the problem is on your phone.

My nokia e63 directly goes to offline mode after i insert mtnl simcard. it works fine with other vodafone simcards i guess the fone doesnt detect the mtnl simcard at all if i try to go to general mode it...
It's because of Network Lock,It locked to Vodafone Network,You need to Unlock it to work in other Network,You can get the Unlock code and instructions at here

This is happening because when the Sim card is not inserted you cannot access the menu of the phone some nokia phones(including yours) are built that way.

Some nokia phones do not need a sim card for you to access the phone menu (e.g 5130,5230), while you can only view the demo of some nokia phones (e.g 1208, 1600) without a sim card

sometimes it is as simple as cleaning the sim card and sim points on the phone with a pencil eraser. sometimes it is related to a simcard IC (usually placed close to the sim tray in the phone) so if u do not succeed cleaning the sim and sim points of the phone u need to change the simcard IC

Since the SIM card is automatically read when inserted, verify it has been correctly inserted. If you have another phone available, try inserting it in that phone. If you can make a phone call, the card should be working. If not, your card may need to be replaced.
