My magic jack phone stopped ringing and the handset says no line

It sounds like the magic jack is not getting power. Is it plugged into the computer, or a wall outlet? Is the blue light on?

If it is plugged into a computer then unplug the Magic Jack and reboot the computer wait until it reloads and then plug the Magic Jack into a different USB port.

If it is plugged into the wall, Then unplug it for 5 min and then plug it back in.

If it doesn't come up and it is still covered by Magic Jack open up a chat with them at the link here. http://www.magicjack.com/contact.html

Magic Jack Plus worked in USB and then Internet on computer stopped working

It's got the wrong gateway setting. Without a gateway (router) to the Internet it can only see local network stuff. I suspect the Magic Jack is still trying to be the gateway but it has no Internet. Stop Magic Jack doing this and it should work.

NO PC stated, HP model number, this is HP forum. so.....what?
no OS stated, opr. system , windows WHAT?
No modem models stated.
No ISP service stated,

what ISP, what service,? DSL> must I GUESS that?
My guess is not DSL no land line but it is possible to buy DSL
with Landline, disabled, I did for years.
or cable modem, ? uses COAX ! not 2wire twisted like DSL.
or are you doing the MAGIC jack , with NO COMPUTER owned
yes?
The magic jack does not plugin to any modem ethernet port
ever. its usb.

t

Broadband, high-speed internet, cable internet, DSL - WiFi, Fios fiber. and more , dial up? nah you dont have LAND LINE./

error codes,. the first page in the manual states !
Contact your Internet service provider to verify your modem allows more than one device to access the Internet if you receive error 3002 when trying to use MagicJack Plus. Some modems and modem/routers-in-one may not be compatible for use with MagicJack Plus if multiple devices are connected to your network.

We dont know what ISP you have nor the connection type
cable tv modem, DSL, FIOS what?
nor the modem you have , you never said,

this is far more complex
its not magic at all,
fire walls set wrong
ISP blocks you, at your mixed, router and modem
using the routers, USB port is a FAIL.
if you want great help answer what you have and what is connected
in details.

Magicjack problems

Hi Frederick,

If you hear error 1 while trying to place a call with your magicJack, it means that you are not connected to the Internet.
To resolve this, make sure that one end of the ethernet cable is plugged into your modem/router/switch and the other end into your magicJack.
You also need to make sure that your modem/router/switch is powered on and that the port you have connected the magicJack to is functioning correctly.
Step 1. if your magic jack plus is plugged directly into computer then be sure to unplug it restart computer then plug the device back in.
Step 2 only if you have it connected to a router and modem first unplug the modem then unplug your router ... leave both unplugged for about 15 seconds then plug in the modem and wait for all the lights to come on then plug in the modem, a lot of times this can solve conectivity issues......

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Gary

Connect ethernet lan cable to computer and router end.
In router there is LAN port connect lan cable to that port and connect other end of that cable to your computer ethenet lan card.
Then connect phone line jack to router's ADSL Port.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

We re booted the computer and have to use a usb

Not sure what the problem is, but from what i am reading i am suprised that anything worked at all. A modem jack in your computer is for telephone lines, and the cable modem needs a cat 5 network cable as well as a ethernet card attatched to your computer. ethernet card in your computer cat5 cable runs from the card to the cable modem. Magic jack requires a usb connection as well as a broadband connection to work.

LinkSYS ADSL2 -AG241Modem + Router Ethernet

Hi,

First : check your cables if its plugged in securely on each each
port
Second: Try to change their ends
Third : Try to replace your Ethernet cable.

If your router is connected to a modem try to isolate the problem by connecting your router directly to your computer and check f light would turn on. IF YES then thers something wrong with your modem, check it out.

Hope those simple steps ive provided helped you in way, If not pls let me know and lets keep the ball rolling.

Cheers.
