Handle foot pedal release U6425-900

I have broken the handle foot pedal release on my Hoover U6425-900. How do I replace the pedal? I purchased the part on line but no replacement instructions came with it and I have not been successful in finding instructions on line. Can any body help me?

If you look under the vacuum where the latch is located, it is held in place by tabs on either side of the latch. The latch had a pin that holds it in place. You need to insert a small flat blade screwdriver to bend these latches back carefully to release the pins. Once the pins are freed, the latch can be pulled out the top. The replacement should be installed in the same orientation by pushing in from the top until the pins on the latch snap into place.

I have the exact same problem. I can't even open the unit up. Let me know if you found anything out. I have searched the web and can't even find a service manual to purchase ! Thanks.

How to change the release pedal on Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub

99 out of 100 times it's not the handle release pedal that's broken. it's the knob on the rear housing broken off. You will have to replace the rear housing. Take it to a local vac shop for repair.

Can't lower handle on Hoover wind tunnel vac U6432-900

Anne, Do you mean that when you depress the pedal on the left side of the machine body that you can't get the upper portion to release into a lower mode? Or are you fully depressing the pedal?? As for the switch for the self propelled mode, that's actually just a small button that you move around in the slot of the handle to select which mode you want to use. It's not actually a switch. If you are fully depressing the handle release pedal and it's not releasing, you should take it to the store where you purchased it, if it was a vacuum store. If you bought it at a big box store, then you'll need to take it to some repair shop that does warranty work, if it's within the warranty period of course.

The handle release pedal wasn't allowing the handle to lower. I took off the pedal and saw the spring load part was broken. What is this part and how to replace it? Bissell 3760-3 handle release

Order Slider Release (7.93, vacpartswarehouse) Pull off 'tank.' Remove 3 Screws for Foot Detent Lever. Pull off. Remove old slider release and spring (verify it's broke.) Replace with new. I just did this today after a year of dealing with it.

How do you replace Hoover Handle Release Pedal on

The handle pedal is snapped in to the base, where it pivots.
The pedal needs to be pried away fron the base, exposing the pivot pin to release it for removal. On your model, you will likelly have to remove the lower handle from the base (where it pivots) to get room to release and replace the pedal.

Foot controlled handle release lever is broken. Where to get parts?

I had same problem - the foot release pedal would not spring into place when unit was upright (but would work if you nudged in place with your foot). I installed a replacement part, and it didn't fix the problem. I cut out a small sqare of sponge and jammed it behind the flat end of the bent plastic spring on the release pedal, and it now springs back as it shoud. Hope this helps.

Stand up lever is plastic, broke when stepped on to release handle, can it be repaired, replaced with a better one, plastic breaks too easily?

The pedal release can be replaced but the base will need to be checked for cracks as well. if the base is broken most common is the socket the pedal release snaps into. some of the plastic parts have been made with better materials

Foot latch is broken. need to replace with new one. how does one access to remove the foot pedal latch. By foot latch, I mean the foot lever that releases the upright to lower the handle and begin...

it is accessed from the bottom underneath by the rear wheel. However, If there are and cracks on the pedal release socket area then the base will need replacement. parts are little cost but the unit needs to be completely disassembled.
