SOURCE: Is there any way to

There is no audio output on that monitor. So decoding the HDMI into analog is out. However, the simple fix is to plug your speakers or headphones into the green 3.5mm headphone jack on the back of your computer, and change the default audio device in windows. You can use both audio cards at once for different tasks, such as having someones voice come over your HDMI cable on the monitor, while listening to music on the audio out of your computer.

If you need any help setting the audio card, let me know.

How do i use the sound of the monitor CMV CT-723A

Monitors seldom have sound. This one of yours is little known as I am trying to find the specs on it. Sometimes they have an audio socket, but you have to run a cable to powered speakers. The data signal from a computer sound card is not amplified, it is just data.

We have a Tevion 45967, we want to just play records on it. Do we need to plug it into external speakers

Not directly.
You can:
play it via AUDACITY on your computer, or
amplify it from the line-out RCA sockets*, via your sound-card line in or a separate hi-fi amplifier with equalizer, or
use a headphone-splitter cable and amplify from that to powered speakers.
*The downside of RCA sockets is that your player's internal speakers still work.
Anything plugged into the headphone socket cuts out internal speaker. The headphone splitter allows monitoring via a headphone aaas well.

HOW DO I GET SOUND ???

Your HP Pavilion F1903 monitor does not have built-in speakers. Your desktop computer probably did not come with speakers. You will have to plug computer speakers into the audio-out jack (green) on the back of your computer to play through external speakers.

There are also a number of USB speaker systems available that use USB both for power and for the audio signal.

Alternatively, there is probably an earphone jack on the front panel of your computer. If you plug headphones into that you should be able to listen on your headphones.

Cant get to play music without headphoes

Most modern computers come with internal speakers already installed, especially laptop computers.
These speakers may be sufficient if you are performing typical computer tasks, but when you play computer games, listen to music or watch movies on your computer, you may want louder and more vibrant sound.
You can achieve this by installing external speakers or headphones. These can be connected to your computer through the speaker or USB ports included on your computer.

Plug in the speakers or headphones.
If the speakers or headphones use a stereo plug, insert the plug into the speaker/headphone port normally located on the side or front of your computer.
This port is often color-coded green. If the equipment is connected using USB, locate a free USB port.
Some external speakers will also need to be plugged into a power outlet in the wall or your surge protector.
This may be all you need to do to get the speakers or headphones to work. If they do not, continue to the next step.
Open the audio settings on your computer.
From the Windows Start menu, open the Control Panel. Here you will find audio and sound settings.
Click the heading to see your sound and audio options.
Choose "Manage audio devices" in Windows 7.

Find your Playback device.
In the Playback tab, you can select your speakers and set them as the default for your system.
If you do not see your speakers or headphones, they have not been installed properly. Disconnect and reconnect them to see if it corrects the problem.

Configure your settings.
Select your device from the list and click "Configure" to test your settings.
You can adjust the volume by using the volume slider on your computer's task bar or using external controls on the speakers or headphones.

I want to make my monitor speakers play sound

Make sure that you have the cable plugged into the monitor and going to the computer if there is one. Some older model monitors operated that way.

Click Start/Control Panel and check your Audio/Sound properties to make sure the drivers are ok. Look for either sound or audio or device manager under the control panel.

Does the sound work for external speakers? Does the sound work for a headphone? Did the computer and monitor come together when you purchased it?

Need help getting audio to play on my HP 2009m monitor which is connected to my HP laptop.

Hi,
The speakers on the monitor will work only when the sound output from the laptop is connected to the monitor speakers. Please make sure that you connect the cable from "Audio OUT" (generally Green colored port where you connect your headphone or external speakers) on the Laptop to the "Audio IN" port on the monitor.
Please let me know if it works.

Thanks and Regards,

Low sound in headphone

I would say it is because the unit does not have a built in amplifier. The speakers are powered PC speakers of studio monitors I am guessing. Try plugging the headphones into the headphone jack of the speakers if they have a headphone jack or try a set of powered headphones out of the Edirol and see if it helps.

That should remedy the problem.

No sound from monitor speakers. Worked fine for 5 years. Can hear sounds when using headphones plugged into CPU. Hope you can help even if only to tell me I need a new monitor. Sincerely Dizzyme.

Hi...there,
First of all, check if your audio cable are still plugged into the monitor and pc output (light green) audio jack. If not just plugged it back in... Still still got no sound... Then turned off the monitor and pc. Unplugged all the cables from the monitor and pc, wait for 10 second till all the surged built up are cleared out. Then you can plugged all the cables back Monitor should have 3 cables, a audio cable, a VGA or DVI cables, and a power cord... OK! now you got all the cables plugged back in...
Turned on the monitor and PC....and a few seconds....you should hear window started. Still... had a problems....just get a external speakers. Have nice day!
