Have since got camera working for no apparent reason, but then batteries went totally flat in one day without any use

Yep.  Same problem.  If I take the batteries out and then put the same batteries back in, it starts up saying batteries full.   If I try to take a picture, it tells me batteries half, but won't fire.  Then it shuts down and says no batteries.  If I reload batteries, it will repeat the above.  Never had a camera last so little time before needing repair, and I've had dozens.

I had the same issue and that is why I found this forum. I tried lightly tapping the on off switch and it came back on. I had to reset the date and time, which indicatest that there may have been a short or total depletion, but all is good now.
I couldn't replicate the fault, which is a good thing. So perhaps some dirty contacts around the on-off.

Good luck

You have a short circuit somewhere. it colud be the flash capacitor. But what ever it is its beyond the avarage guys scope to fix So into the the repair shop with it. Unless you have some warranty still left. Worth a talk to the Tech Support Team at Pentax

I have this same problem. I went onto the Samsung website troubleshooting and it says that if there is an orange blinking light then the charging cable is damaged and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps!

I go to charge the battery and it looks like it charges for a while then the charger red light starts blinking. I put the battery back in the camera and the battery is still flat. Not sure what's wrong?...

The blinking light on the charger indicates that the battery needs to be replaced and will not charge. You can buy a replacement lithium battery online at sites like Amazon for less than $10.

When charging battery green light flashes then red 3 times

You can charged you camera using 5V AC Adaptor or a USB cable taht attached into the computer

When I placed my Lithium Ion Battery in the charger it doesn't carge the batter and the red light that's supposed to stay lit while it's charging keeps on blinking on and off.

How old is the battery?

It's very possible that the blinking light is indicating a bad/old battery. These rechargeable batteries after so many cycles lose it's charging capability and the fault system built into the recharging base will indicate by giving you the red light on & off. Energizer rechargeable station is a good example when it detects old or bad batteries.

Red blinking light

same problem, red blinking light in series of 5 flashes

Red light blinking three times in a row

Service manual says 3 flashing red leds = eeprom error (main digital / video pcb).
Suggest you start by implementation of Fujitsu Service Bulletin PDP 0068-01 Main Digital pcb see:-ttp://

Why does the charging light blink sometimes when there are no batteries in the camera?

Some models of camera have an ultra capacitor in them to extend battery life. This ultra capacitor is indistinguishable from a battery to the camera electronics. If the charging light starts blinking when there are no batteries in the camera, it will not cause any damage. After a few minutes, the light will stop blinking.
