When I plug in AV cable for playback on TV camera screen goes black

Hello, This is my first digital camera and I have been having fun with it. I love taking pictures and then playing them on my TV. Today, I turned my camera on and saw the picture on the camera screen but when I plugged the AV cable into the camera the camera screen went black? I even tried plugging the AV cable into the camera and then the TV and then turning them on but the camera screen is still black. I am not sure what is wrong and the camera is new. I appreciate any help or advice. Thanks

Did you fully charge the battery before use when you bought the camera? and is it charged now? most cameras can take photos but not be able to hook up to download. because photos take less energy it may be that it has just enough energy to take a picture, but not quite enough to do anything else. i don't think your stupid, its just that some people don't think of the little things as be possible. also could check to see if there is any obstructions. (dirt, little pieces of plastic, etc.) on the main routing items. (memory card, plug-both ends, inside the camera housing itself). hope i could help GOOD LUCK!

LCD Scree went blank/black

No problem. Discovered that fix by accident when my camera did the same thing. Since the screen was blank, tried arranging camera setting using the camera's AV cable with the TV, and discovered that fixed it. Apparently corrosion builds up on the AV cable plug switch (which also turns the screen off when inserted), and inserting/removing the plug several times can fix it.

Screen black in all lighting. Icons and menu show and can view photos already on card, but screen black in all modes. Can take picture, but it is also black. Lens cover is open. Nikon Coolpix 4600. Thanks...

Hello, I went and researched a few points in the manual and hope this helps to some extent. If this doesn't help, try resetting your camera by removing the batteries for 30 seconds, then reinstalling them and turning on the camera again.
Monitor is blank:
• Camera is off.
• Batteries are not correctly inserted or battery-chamber
cover is not properly latched.
• Batteries are exhausted.
• EH-62B AC adapter (available separately) is not properly
connected.
• Camera is in sleep mode. Press shutter-release button
halfway.
• Monitor is off.
• USB cable is connected.
• AV/Video cable is connected

No picture is taken when shutter release button is pressed:

• Camera is in playback mode.
• Batteries are exhausted.
• Red (!) lamp flickers: flash is charging.
• Green (AF) lamp flickers: camera unable to focus.
• Message "CARD IS NOT FORMATTED" appears in
monitor: memory card is not formatted for use in your
camera.
• Message "OUT OF MEMORY" appears in monitor:
insufficient memory to record picture at current Image
mode setting.

Canon ZR80 no image on TV in playback

Make sure your AV cable is plugged firmly into the camera. These cables can problem your observing when they are not fully "plugged in". If that does not solve your problem, the front pcb (board underneath lens assy) may have a bad connection. I charge a flat rate of $125.00 for camcorders including parts in most cases with a 90 warranty. If the repair cannot be made for this price a free estimate will be given. Contact Frank @615-400-1440 or e-mail [email protected].

Playing Back images/Video Clips on TV You can also playback your images on a TV screen. Before connecting to any device, make sure to select NTSC/PAL system to match the video output system of the video equipment you are going to connect to Vivicam 5340s, then turn all connected devices off. 1. Position Vivicam 5340s on the cradle. 2. Match the docking connectors and carefully insert Vivicam 5340s until it fits in place. 3. Connect one end of the A/V cable to the A/V terminal of the cradle. 4. Connect the other end to the A/V input socket of the TV set. 5. Turn the TV and Vivicam 5340s on. 6. Playback the still images/video clips. The method of operation is the same as playing back still images and video clips on Vivicam 5340s. I hope this helps:)
