HI CARL_CHESIR - are the lights on (static) or are they flashing. If they are flashing it means your waste ink pads need replacing and the protection counter resetting. You can use the ssc utility to reset the protection counter and get you working again. But watch out for a mess if ink starts to overflow from the waste ink pads. Report back if you want more information. By the way, you have another post open of the same date - is this the same problem or another one?

Hi, Epson Stylus c62 printer problem. Turn on printer runs through start up cycle power light and ink light (red) flash alternate. Not out of paper or ink. Help Please

The Epson website says that if both lights are blinking, "An unknows printer error has occurred." They say to turn off the printer and contact you dealer (whoever sold you the printer).

Before you contact the seller or EPSON tech support, I recommend going through all the basic troubleshooting procedures (if you haven't done so already):

1. Remove and reseat ink cartridges.
2. Turn off the printer
3. Turn it back on again and see if lights quit blinking.
4. If still not working, remove paper. Check thoroughly for jams (and remove, if necessary).
5. Turn power off and then back on again and if still not working...
6. Turn off again.
7. Unplug and replug all cables to ensure a good connection
8. Turn back on and if it's still not working, it's time to contact the vendor or manufacturer.

Hope this helps...

Epson Stylus C62 Error Red light wont go off

Hi victorarcas

If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced (see later). You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation.

However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C62 Service Manual". You will often find them for sale very cheaply on E-Bay.

If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back and I will provide further help.

Printing from Microstation to Epson Stylus C62 printer

Hi AW

More info is needed. Does the printer print normally from Windows programs? Is the "microstation" running under Windows, or if not, what operating system? If it's not a standard operating system that has C62 drivers (DOS, Windows, Linux, Mac), you will have to write your own driver I'm afraid. Let me know.

Cleaning cartridge

Both the black and colour cartridge must be installed for the printer to work. So you will need two cleaning cartridges. If you only have one cleaning cartridge, make sure your "other" cartridge is not out of ink. If you are sure both cartridges contain ink/cleaning fluid, post a new comment with this information.

Serious Color Printer Issues

This is to do with the way in which the cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink is mixed to produce all the colours e.g. to print "red" requires both magenta and yellow ink. Thus, if the magenta ink is not flowing for some reason, for example, the "red" will print out as yellow. So, make sure all your cartridges and nozzles are working properly.

If you need further help with this, please post a new comment to this effect.

Epson Stylus C62

If your printer documentation includes any troubleshooting information, perform those troubleshooting steps.
If possible, perform a self-test on the printer. These "self-diagnostic" tools can often resolve or diagnose basic issues with your hardware.
also:
-click start, point to setting and then click on printers
- right click on the printer that you want to check and then properties
- verify that all of your printer properties are configures as recommented by your printer manufacturer. to do so, view the documentation included with you printer
-if needed go to control panel and then to printers/cameras and try to set up your printer through there, you may need to update drivers.
