Question about Toshiba Satellite M35X-S161 Notebook

1 Answer

Toshiba M35x-s161 I recently purchased a new Atheros Super AG mini pci card and was wondering how I can swap my stock Super G for the new one? I'm guessing it's an internal card because I can't seem to locate a slot where I can install it? Can someone please help me figure out what I can do, I'd really appreciate it. I already extracted my new driver for the new adapter but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it installed.

Check out this page and click on the bottom tab. You'll see some sections outlined in red. Note that one of them says "Memory and Wireless Module Cover". That would be where the mini-PCI card would be. Some of the Dell laptops actually tell you how to remove the mini-PCI card in the user manual, but the manual of this Toshiba (found online) just says "don't do it". It's not that hard, but ifyou haven't done it before, I'd recommend you take it to a pro.

Where can i purchase a MPC13A-20/R 802.11b card for my Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301?

This is the only card that works in the mini-PCI slot in the 1905 series. eBay would be your best bet. You can look under "Toshiba 1905 wireless card" but ... make sure it's an Agere card, as most sellers are selling Intel, Broadcom, Atheros.... and none of them will work.
