My dvd rw is not working.. i mean.. its not reflecting on my pc..

1) Computer off, and unplugged from power.

2) Computer on a table open the computer case

3) Observe Anti-Static Precautions.

4) Unplug the power cable (15-pin), and the data cable (7-pin) to the DVD-R/W drive.

5) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of Five seconds.
Let go of the Power On button.
Do this procedure TWO more times.

6) Plug the power cable, and data cable back into the DVD-R/W drive.

7) Close the computer case, and plug the computer back into power.
WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.
After Windows loads you should see a pop-up, "Found new hardware", and perhaps another one, "Found XXXX DVD-R/W optical drive"

Number 5 above clears the CMOS Error Codes out, and resets BIOS settings back to the factory default settings.
Unplugging the optical drive, (DVD-R/W drive) ,and performing number 5, kind of slaps BIOS around, and makes it recognize the drive is attached, and also Windows.
Makes Windows match of one of it's thousands of generic drivers for the DVD-R/W drive.

Can I put internal LG GH22 rewriter inside external GSA-E60N

First, open the external casing.
You'll find an "internal" CD/DVD drive, connected to an adapter, and the adapter connects to the USB cable.

Now, look at the adapter -- it could be a "parallel-ATA" interface, or it could be a "SATA" interface. The new CD/DVD drive will have to have the same connectors (data and power) as the adapter.

You might have to exchange the SATA device for a Parallel-ATA device.

If you have a parallel-ATA CD/DVD drive, look at the back of it.
There is a tiny jumper, and a few labelled settings:

* MA(ster)
* SL(ave)
* C(able)S(elect)

Move the jumper to the 'MA' setting, so that the USB-adapter will recognize the CD/DVD drive.

Connect the drive to the adapter.
Close the case.
You're good to go!

My dvd is not going in dvd drive?????

Well I know this seems obvious but is the PC on while you are trying to close the drive? Restart PC and push the button as soon as you see something on the screen. Most drives can be closed manually a few times without injuring the ejection motor. Try this and if it doesn't work then the drive is probably jammed in that position from something brushing up against it while it was out... Just play with it gently until you get it to go back in.
