Click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now
click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start or
you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box
you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive
hope this helps

First double check the stick for a tab with a picture of a lock on it, if that is there then switch it to the other position, if your drive lacks the switch then connect the drive. Go to my computer, right click the drive, click properties and search the taps for write protection and disable it(im sorry but i forget what tap it is under) hope that will help you out some but let me know if neither of those help

You have to gently pry it open with a plastic lever - it just like opening an iPod.

Check the following
If it wont populate or doesn't show at all in storage manager at all either the drive itself is bad or the control in the external enclosure is bad. You can attempt to remove the drive from the enclosure and plug it in directly into the computer but this tends to void it's warranty. If the drive works however you can simply buy a new enclosure for about $12
