Before you actually start leash training, I recommend
attaching a leash to your dogs collar while at home and letting your puppy get
used to the leash being there. After a
few days, you can then begin leash training.
During the beginning stages, you should walk your puppy on the leash
without pulling/jerking. If your puppy
starts to pull on the leash, I suggest standing still. This lets your puppy know that you do not
want them to pull on the leash. Always
use positive reinforcement while leash training. Below I have attached a link to a site that

Leashes can be made from a variety of materials; however nylon and leather are the most common. Some people prefer leather leashes, since nylon ones can become rough on the users hands over time.
