Its explaned in the manual - here on page 47 which is probably simpler than repeating here - however, if you have trouble with the manual - post back a reply

OK let me clear port forwarding for you, your router normaly has a firewall (to block of any requests from the internet to exploit any services trough any ports) so if you want access to a resource on the LAN side (side of the router where all the devices and computers are pluged) from the WAN side (side where the ISP's modem is connected for internet) you have to open a port or multiple ports to a specific device IP address (according to device manual).

for exemple:
assuming that the camera has an IP of and it uses port 7777 for resources, in the port forwarding section of the router you ave to open port 7777 and direct it to (save settings and VOILA)

Can I connect a GT704WG to a COMCAST SciAlt modem and have wireless

No. The uplink for the Actiontec is the DSL port. You would be better off purchasing a router from a retailer instead of a gateway modem/router combo like the Actiontec

Once i open my router how do i actually open the ports for xbox tcp80,udp88,exctra im using a action tec gt704wg wireless router
Your manual above it also shows you how to open ports in there.
Also if you go to, they will show you how to do it too. Go to the link below.

Actiontec Gateways and Routers are compatible with the Xbox. However, it may be necessary to forward the ports used by the Xbox, in the Actiontec Gateway or Router. Without Port Forwarding, the Xbox Connection Test may report a "NAT" rating of "STRICT" or "MODERATE", rather than "OPEN".
It is also explained below...

Will The actiontec GT704WG work with frontier DSL

If DSL port is available in your GT704WG then must be work.

I have a actiontec gt704wg trying to connect another router behind it .... iam not able to ...

your other router has to have the following settings:

1) it's IP must be on the same subnet as your actiontec. The subnet is the "third" number in the ip address. So if your actiontec has ip of, your other router must have IP of 192.168.1.XXX where xxx is some number other than 0.

2) the dhcp server of your other router must be turned off

3) you must run a lan cable from a lan port on the actiontec to a lan port on the other router. Note that the internet/wan ports are NOT used on either router for the purpose of daisy-chaining routers together.

It looks like what you need setup is port forwarding. You can visit this link for details specific to the router manufacturer.

Hope this helps :)

Kindly leave a good feedback. Thanks..

Fire Wall.

You will need to set a static IP on the Xbox in the Xbox live network settings. You will also need to forward ports 3074 both UDP & TCP, 53 both UDP & TCP, and 88 UDP if you run into DSL Resolution errors.

Firewall issue?

Yes this is possible you can turn off the fire wall or you can open up the port your down loading program uses to communicate with its peers. in the menu I believe you will find a tab for port forwarding. They may even list the program you are using. in any event here is a link on port forwarding that may help: Subsittute your ports for the one on the web page and you should be connected in no time.
