Re: dfx 8000 not printing
Check the printhead guide bar for proper lubrication- light oil similiar to 3 in 1 will work. Check for any printhead cabling catching on something as the printhead moves back and forth.
If error beeps are occuring immediately after turn on, and unit will not print, this might indicate a sensor problem, such as paper sensor, head home position sensor or another error condition of some sort.

Ink system failure error occurs when there is a problem with the ink cartridges or the printhead. Step 1: Try performing an automatic printhead clean directly from the printer's control panel. Step 2: To perform a printhead clean from the Control Panel of the printer, load A4 sheets or any other supported paper. Step 3: Press the Setup icon on the Home screen. Then navigate and select Tools from the menu. Step 4: Touch on Clean Printhead from the list of available options.
This way an automatic clean will be processed inside the printer. Step 5: Load any of the paper types such as a letter, A4, or legal unused plain, white paper into the input tray. Make sure the printer is turned ON. Step 6: Load a stack of plain paper. Press Setup.
The Setup menu appears. Step 7: Press the down arrow symbol to select Tools, and then press OK. Step 8: Press the down arrow icon to select Self-test Report, and press OK. The self-test report prints. Step 9: If the above steps do not work, remove the cartridge and replace it with a new one.

3 beeps is still telling you that the printhead has a problem. Did you put in a new printhead? You also have to tell your printer by holding the resume button for the correct amount of beeps to set it for the printhead you have installed.
The 6 beeps along with the orange light stands for "Re-install BJ cartridge or replace it".
You might have already fixed the problem by replacing the cartridge, and you're still stuck with the error indication.
Waste Error Reset
1: Power off printer
2: Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
3: Hold POWER and release RESUME
4: Press RESUME twice
5: When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange.
6: Press Power to set data
If it still doesn't go away, try cleaning the contacts the cartridge makes with the printhead. Dip the carts contacts(dipping only the contact area) in shallow hot water for a minute, then wipe dry with a cloth that doesn't shed fiber. Also clean the contacts on the printhead using a damp cloth, maybe also some alcohol.
If it still doesn't go away you have to think of replacing the printhead, or chucking it.
