Iriver h10 cant seem to see what music is on my iriver through my computer i can download stuff to it but cant view what is actually on my iriver through media player

You need to install the IRiver software and drivers first before you plug in and use it.

try this...

connect your h10 to the pc using the ums trick with the usb connection..
For 20 GB MTP Models

• Make sure your H10 is turned off and disconnected from the computer.
• Poke the "reset" button with a paperclip.
• Turn on the hold switch (so that you don't accidentally turn the H10 on all the way).
• Plug the H10 into your computer.
• Turn on the H10 while holding the "O" button.
• You will see the message "Emergency Connection" if you have done everything correctly. You can now let go of the "O" button.

download and run EASYh10 software (free playlist maker). It will scan the files in your music folder and build/save a playlist to your h10.
disconnect player and give it a try...

OK, one day i turned on mu iriver and it's say's "system file missing to restore the system files connect to H10 to iriver and i dont know how to connect it.The other proplem when playing the music it's like a scratch CD i dont know how to fix it.

The USM trick allows you totreat your H10 as an external hard drive. Then it is easy to copy the musicback to your PC using explorer.

Just to let everyone know I have the H10 6Gb player and the reason your having problems getting the H10 to work with Vista is because it isn't supported by Vista at all even with updating your firmware...

I have also changed pc's and took the chance on losing my music, I've found that I didn't lose any of my music it just keeps adding and updating

H10 20GB isn't user replaceable. I found a diagram for how to replace it, Mystic River had it. Doesn't look too bad. 
Finding a battery though...good luck with that! The downfall of iRiver is that they don't offer replacements. (I don't think, at least)
As for getting music onto your computer from the H10, it's not too difficult. You'll have to go into it from My Computer and whatever drive it's on and then just drag and drop after finding the music files.

Fimrware upgrade might actually result in this problem - check the iRiver help forums - i believe I saw a horde of people with this issue
