I have the Panasonic camcorder. I made 6 tapes of my honeymoon 2 years ago. I put in the first DVC tape to watch it and it works fine (I am watching it through the camcorder). When I put in the second one, it is all choppy. The sound is not there, and the video feed jumps. I purchased the head cleaner for it and nothing changed. So all the other 5 tapes do this except for the first one. When I first video taped my honeymoon, the video (DVC) played back fine with no issues. I shot more video today and it played back with no issues. I don't know what to do or how to fix it and I really don't want to loose my honeymoon video. Hope you can help me out! Thanks, Luigi
Hi Luigi, Have you tried playing the tapes on a different camcoder we would want to start by a process of eleimination.

Yup, same problem with a Canon. It is particularly problematic in the first 5 minutes of tape. I had returned the camera just prior to expired warranty, they cleaned the head, it worked about once and still has problems. Seems like the tape is slipping in the drive, because it 'pilxelates' the playback and then I get the "Eject tape" message. Thought it might be an issue with low quality DV tapes, but brand doesn't make a difference. Suspect it may be a drive issue. Unfortunately, I think this form of media will soon be obsolete.
