SOURCE: pci simple communications controller not found

That would mean you need a modem driver installed for that PC, or your modem is bad. Now this is refering to a dialup modem not a broadband modem.Goto Dell website and under support you can enter your PC moodel number and download the Communication Modem Driver. I have provided you a direct link below:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=PLX_PNT_P4_CEL_170L

If this doesn't help, seek out a repair shop and get a new modem installed.

If this helps please rate my solution.

Just go to the controller's manufacturer's website and click on Support. You can download drivers from there, or even just Google it.

simple communications controller is likely a modem, sound card, or network card. If your sound was not working, you would know, and similarly with your network. So try sound card drivers next.

Pci simple communications controller could not find a driver so there's no internet, board is an Asus p5smxse with 2 chipsets, one on the north and the other on the south. sis 968 and sis 671fx

Enter your bios and make sure you're lan is [Enabled].
Open the link provided below;
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=fLSzpcTDJYT0rgS6&content=download
Choose you're operating system from the drop down menu.
There is one LAN driver, Sis Driver V2.0.1039.1070 for Windows 2000/XP/2003/XP 64bit/2003 64bit. Create a folder on your desktop and name it LAN. Download the LAN driver into the LAN folder. Uncompress the zip file, keep the uncompressed file within the LAN folder. Open windows device manager. Find the pci simple communications controller. Right click on it once. From the pop-up menu left click, update driver. Follow windows instructions. Find the Lan folder on you're desktop and open it. Left click once on the newely created Lan folder so it is high lighted. Click OK. Windows will find the correct software and install it for you. When finished restart you're system. Check windows update for hardware and software updates after windows restarts.
More often than not (pci simple communications controller) points to an audio driver missing but LAN controllers are included.

Cheers!

Motherboard Simple PCI Communications Driver Code 28 for modem

Hello, Mike.

In case you still need this:

To find and install the driver for the simple communications controller:

Go to Device Manager and click on the pci simple communications controller

Go to Properties and then Details. You will see a code like PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...
The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in the example the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabse.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your hardware.

From there, you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

Hope this helps.
