Question about Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera

Viewfinder While on our first vacation with this camera, the image in the viewfinder suddenly became blurry. The pictures turn out fine. The image in the LCD is clear, but I prefer to take pictures through a viewfinder. I can't make heads nor tails out of the user manual, the print and images are minute and refers me to other pages I can't see or understand.

When I try to shoot using the viewfinder, the image I see through the viewfinder remains out of focus, whether or not in reality the subject actually is in focus. In other words, the resulting photograph can be utterly clear and sharp, BUT when I am shooting, the viewfinder image remains blurry. Yes I have cleaned the viewfinder with a soft cloth. Thoughts? Advice? Thanks!!

There's a little scrolling wheel to the left of the viewfinder; move it up or down until the image is clearest.

This situation happened to me as soon as I opened my new camera. Put a note about this in the "Getting Started" booklet.

Hi Steve, I inform you that the problem only is moisture. Please follow this.
1. Put the camera in sunlight for few hours. After that use it & if you face same problem then
2. You need to visit camera repair shop and they open the camera completely and clean all the inside part of the camera. because you need to clean the moisture inside of lens, viewfinder & sensor too.
So only hope in sunlight. If its solve then fine.

Next to the viewfinder ther is a diopter adjustment so you can change the focus in the viewfinder. this is so if you need glasses the camera can be set for you. Start by focusing the camera on something, then slide to turn the diopter adjustment until it looks sharp and try not to bump it.

All of a sudden everything is out of focus and very blurry, pictures and even through the view finder. we took a few pics tht turned out normal, set the camera down picked it up about 5-10 minutes later...

If the viewfinder is also blurry, it might be as simple as a smudge on the lens. Is the blur uniform and consistent on the pictures and in the viewfinder? Was there a curious dog nearby when you set the camera down?:)

Blurry Viewfinder

There is a small sliding lever on the side of the eyepiece to adjust the built in diopter for your eye.

Viewfinder's image is blurry

there's a little plastic screw right besides the viewfinder, i think it's on the right side. try to adjust sharpness with this screw (it's actually for people with glasses, allowing them to take pictures without wearing the glasses).
