Buying a new mattress can be a long and exhausting
process. Do not let it overwhelm
you. I am here to provide you with some
great tips that will help you find the best mattress for you. Before heading out to the shop ask yourself a
few questions. How long do you want the
mattress to last? What is your
budget? What type of support do you
need? Once you have a basic idea of what
you need out of a mattress, you are ready to head out to the stores. Here are a few tips that I truly believe are
worth following:
•
Talk to your doctor – although not a sleep
expert, your doctor may be able to guide you towards a certain style/firmness
of mattress that will best suit your body
•
Check the warranty
•
Test drive your mattress – when you go mattress
shopping make sure to wear comfortable clothes (similar to pajamas) and spend
10-15 minutes lying on each mattress you sample the same way you would sleep at
home (if you sleep on your stomach, then lye on your stomach in the
store). Do not let the salesperson rush
you; finding the right mattress will take time.
•
Shop at mattress stores – try to limit your
search to mattress specific stores as opposed to department stores/online (DO
NOT BUY A MATTRESS ONLINE)
A mattress is a purchase that should not be taken
lightly. Although they can be quite
expensive, whatever you do, DO NOT risk comfort for a cheaper mattress.
