Question about Canon PowerShot SD630 Digital ELPH / IXUS 65 Digital Camera
Hello everyone! I'm having problems getting my computer to recognize my camera. I'm on a dell laptop with Windows XP Pro. I've tried connecting the chord to different USB ports but the computer hasn't recognized it. I've downloaded pictures off this camera onto this computer before in the past without problems so I'm not sure what could be going wrong. Any assistance would be appreciated, thank you.
Same thing happened to my Powersgot SD450. I'll tell you what the Best Buy Geek Squad guy told me: If it's off warranty, the repair will be about as much as a new camera. But, for $20, you can buy a USB memory card reader that will still read the card. I bought the card reader. It works great.

I have the same problem with my powershot A40. I have downloaded loads of photos using the memory card but for some reason today although my printer recognises the card and displays the photos, when I go into image zone on my computer it says that it is not connected (even though it most definitely is!!) Most frustrating! So instead I tried the usb port and it didn't even recognise anything at all. Any ideas?
I've had my Canon SD630 for a year and never had a problem downloading the pictures to my Dell. Now nothing happens when I connect, and I get a message that the Zoom Browser does not detect my camera. I called Canon and the guy told me to try charging the battery, but that did not help.
I have exactly the same problem with my SD630.. My Dell laptop just stopped recognizing the camera.. I called Canon help line but.. nadda.. any suggetions?
