Question about Symantec Gateway Security Appliance 440 (10278186)
I installed a SonicWall CSM 3200 (content filter) and now the WSUS will not download new updates. I've tried adding all the Windows update sites but that did not work. I'm getting an error about the HTTP byte-range requests. The content filter does not seem to have a setting for it.
Are you behind a firewall performing some kind of deep packet inspection/AV/Spyware removal? It may be corrupting your HTTP Range headers during BITS transfers on the client.
I experienced a similar error through a SonicWall with GatewayAV (no proxy, just the Sonic) and had to enable HTTP byte-range requests. This can happen to both server and client BITS downloads...

Solution - The Sonicwall CSM 3200 has a gateway antivirus running. I had to disable this and it allowed the WSUS to synchronize and download updates in case anyone has this same problem.
