Can't Unlock oven doors after "self-Clean" maytag double oven

I am unable to unlock the top oven door after running the self-clean routine for the top oven. This is a Maytag 850 series double oven stove. Is there some code to enter to clear the oven so that the door will unlock?

I was advised to disconnect power for at least 60 seconds to clear the control board. I did this several times with no luck getting the door unlocked. However, a few hours later, the door did finally unlock. Not sure what ultimately caused the door to unlock, but happy that I did not have to replace the control board.

My 2008 Maytag double oven the lower door is locked, no messages on display and the manual says to push 'CANCEL abd Cook & Hold' button but does not unlock the door

f your 2008 Maytag double oven's lower door is locked, here are some steps you can try to unlock it:

Press Cancel/Off Key: Start by pressing the Cancel/Off key. Wait for 20-30 seconds, then try to open the door. Sometimes this simple latch reset can do the trick.

Power Cycle: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute. After that, turn the power back on. Allow the oven to cool for approximately 30-90 minutes, and then move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door.

Self-Clean Cycle Interruption: If the door locked during a self-clean cycle, select the "Self Clean" option, and then choose "Cancel". Wait a couple of minutes, and then try to start the cycle again. If the self-clean cycle was started by mistake, press the Cancel/Off key. The oven will need to cool to around 200°F (95°C) before the door can open.

Remember to ensure that the oven is cool and the power is turned off before attempting any of these steps. Hopefully, one of these methods will help you unlock the oven door! Your manual might prove helpful. Oven is Locked - What to Do - Product Help ' Maytag

Cannot unlock oven door

  • Here it is!

Look for a manual lever to unlock the oven. If there is one, it will probably swing back and forth horizontally, just below the upper edge of the oven door.

  • Swing the locking lever, if one is present, all the way to the left. This should unlock the oven. If there is no manual lever to unlock the oven, it may be unlocked using push-button controls.

  • Check to see if the oven is in a self-cleaning cycle, or has just completed a self-cleaning cycle. If so, the door will unlock automatically once the oven has finished the cleaning cycle and cooled completely, which may take several hours. You cannot unlock the oven before it has cooled.

  • Unlock the "Clean/Off" button. Depending on the brand and model of your oven, the button may display both of these designations or just one. If your oven door is locked, but the oven is not warm and is not in a cleaning cycle, unlock it by pressing and holding the "Clean/Off" button.

My oven door is locked. It is not cleaning. I have tried turning off the breaker. help i have a turkey to put in the oven. Is there a sequence of buttons I can push to unlock it?

    Hello,

Here are some solution on how to unlock the door of your oven ans do self cleaning below.

IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of door opening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com
The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the clean button (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancel key and wait for the door to unlock. IF the self clean option ran for an hour or so, you will have to wait for the oven to cool down before the lock can unlock (safety feature).

Cant unlock self clean oven door

Door lock motor has probably failed.....Self clean on many ovens can be a self destruct mode. Door latch motors, sensor probes and even the electronic controls can be destroyed by this operation. Suggest oven cleaner method.

    Ge double oven

I believe this is because it takes a while for your oven to cool down (the cleaning cycle uses a very high temperature to burn up the grease and food). The timer is how long it takes before it will be cool, at which time the oven will unlock.
