The remote control is an acess to the TV device for example only from a distance. A remote controll for functionality would require to insert batteries a power source making possible communiction with devices requiring reception transmittion of signals. The remote is handheld pointed to the direction of TV requiring signal before button pressed woudl achieve response. a common button to start the remote control experience is pressing on the power button, that displays a signal on the TV.
