Won't read Blank DVD+RW's. Blank CD's work fine. Full DVD's work fine.
I have no idea why, but if I insert a blank DVD+RW, nothing ever comes up, and it says 0 bytes. This happened a few hours after erasing a re-writable DVD. I've tried it with a few blanks, none of them work. :(

This is a common problem. RW DVD are different types. You need to read what type of RW DVD you need there will be either a nimber, leter or symbol at the end of where it says RW DVD or DVD RW and you CANNOT use just any disc.
i ran into this problem a while ago. I had to test different dvd's. I then looked on the manufacturer's website. there they stated which dvd-r, dvd-rw would work. once i tried that brand It worked fine.
you are probably using a DVD media that is not supported take a look at this it tells you all the supported and recommended media, also do the firmware upgrade as this may give more support to other media
This is correct, as there is no TOC on a blank disk there is nothing to read.
it is your writing software that identifies blank media when inserted, so you may wish to check your software is appropriate for your requirements
