I am having the same problem. The TV set just powered off by Itself. Did a power reset - after 60 second wait. The timer/Standby light flashes red continuously - once every 60 seconds. Sony Helpline have advised to contact a repair technician.

If the route of problem is falut in power supply, how big or costly can this be?

I'm having the same problem with my KP-61HS10, except my standby light flashes twice every 3 seconds. Any estimates on how much it could be to fix? I bought it used a few years ago and might just cut bait.

The timer light just keeps blinking, there is no picture or sound. I unplugged it for over 8 hours and when I turn it on it does the same thing. Is it a fuse and am I able to repair it myself. I contacted sony and they said call a technician. I called a couple of technicians they all said it would cost anywhere from $700-$900 to repair.

    Please advise

Mine blinks like 5 or 6 times - picture goes out, but sound stays. It has been at the repair shop for 1.5 months and the tech finally sees the problem. He says 3 new tubes will fix it, but the blue is discontinued. Can anyone confirm?

Check for shorted capacitor near IHVT. 102K/2KV---use 102K/3KV Sony #1-161-754-00. Also, check for open pico fuse in power supply.

Plug it out to reset itself and if that does not work, you will have to call a tech as the tv has a problem in its power supply an its related circuit good luck.

I have a sony 50 in rear projection. 9 years old

Sounds like the CRT tubes are going out which is fairly common on Sony. Inside the back of the TV there are 6 knobs - 2 for each color...one is for focus - dont touch - the other for brightness...turn down the brightness just a hair untill the lines go away.

Sony KP53XBR45 Customer was watching it and the picture just whent out but still had sound. Now when press power button the LED light flashes 7-times and won't turn on. Any suggestions? Thanks, Alltech...

Are you getting sound? If not, then your power supply is faulty. If you sound but no picture, then an IC or STK capacitors are faulty depending on what type of tv it is.
