How can i disassemble the sprayer handle on my kohler a112.18.1m kitchen faucet

Water pressure suddenly decreased but when the sprayer is removed it is fine. There seems to be something slowing the pressure down in the sprayer handle but i can't see how to take it apart

SOURCE: Pressure problem with Kohler shower faucet??

Hi pglaw,

My best guess is the supply valve for the hot side isn't open all the way. This valve is right on the valve and is accessed by taking off the front cover plate. This would still allow the pressure balancing valve to let water through but then you would have a small flow on the hot side.

If this isn't it then then cartridge is bad.

Please rate this response and good Luck,, phil

SOURCE: Low Water Pressure in Kitchen Faucet

Ihad the same problem. It is not the screen. What you need to do is get a spray diverter the old one disintergated and is blocking the flow. You have to take the collar off and underneath is the diverter. This is after you take the ball and rings out.

SOURCE: No hot water pressure on kohler bath / shower faucet

Try draining the system and apply air pressure (min 30psi) to each faucet. Open other hot water faucets to allow pressure to vent. Next try draining and cleaning the hot water tank.

When you remove the screw, you will have to give the handle a slight pull to take it out. Sometimes it is stuck after being used too long.

The specs say that there are two check valves but the diagram does not show them. Take the weight off the hose and see if it is causing the restriction. If it is not, what is the water pressure in the house? The 2.2 GPM is the maximum flow rate.

Calcuim build-up in Hansgrohe 06128830 - what is best fix? (CLR Rx done)

It sounds like you have already checked the obvious places at the cartridge and the filter screen at the end of the hose. If you have good flow through the hose with out the sprayer attached I would suggest the blockadge was in the sprayer. If you look into the hand sprayer from the hose connection you will see a yellow ring with a white plastic flap in the middle. This is the first check valve as well as the flow restriction device. This little assembly can be removed [for cleaning] by pushing in on the white plastic part and hooking the yellow ring and simply pulling it straight back and out of the handsprayer. A cork screw or dental pick works well for this. Once removed you will need to hold this little assembly over something other than the sink and unsnap the grey end from the yellow housing. You will most likely find some debris in this little grey end around the spring at the flow restriction device. This is common after a water heater replacement due to the amount of debris stirred up during the flushing process. Once cleaned you will need to reassemble and reinstall the check valve assembly for proper function of the unit. If you need any further help feel free to contact me at Hansgrohe. 1-800-334-0455. Sounds to me you have something wrong with the filter and retaining air there. That air must be purged to get the pressure you need from water supply. Double check that water filter I think your problem is there, Thanks Sea Breeze

The water pressure drops rapidly when the faucet is turned on. The pressure in the hose is constant, but when the sprayer is attached to the hose the pressure drops.

Seems like you have some debris in the sprayer. Remove the aerator and see if there is any there or take it outside and force water into the aerator and hopefully it blows out through the inlet.

Solo 425 and 475 spray packs.

I have a 425 that I have had to remove the pressure cylinder. I found this on the internet one time, but can't find it again. Anyhow, this is how to remove the pressure cylinder on a Solo 425. Do all the disassembly instructions in the owners manual. Then get a short 2x4 or 2x2 and place it on top on the pressure cylinder through the opening on top of the tank. Then give it a good whack with a hammer. Don't be shy, that ****** is in there. It may take more than one whack. Once you have the cylinder out there is a screen on the cylinder that must be cleaned. To re-assemble, turn the sprayer upside down, insert the pressure cylinder, lay the 2x4 across the bottom of the cylinder and use even force (and hammer) to force the cylinder back in. Stop when you get to the O ring seat and you can do the rest by hand, being careful not to pinch the O ring. I have had Solo sprayers for many years and think they are great. But when it seems that when I leave glyphosate (Roundup) in the sprayer it clogs the screen. My hard water may contribute to the problem.
