Some Burners Will Not Ignite

I have a six-burner gas stove top. A couple of burners will not ingnite without a match. The igniter clicks but no spark. The two burners are: left back and middle front (knobs on the right hand side). I have tried adjusting the "caps" and wiping down the "teeth" in each burner. Occassionally this helps, but it could be just a coincidence.

Probably a worn wire to the electrode or a cracked ignitor. you are faced with taking off the hobtop and looking - no easy solution. you should not do this unless you are confident and don't interupt the gas path

The igniter on the right front burner of my GE Gas cooktop does not work....I must use a lighter or match to ignite....What can I do? There is no clicking sound when I turn on the burner?

all burner igniters work at the same time - you may have a faulty electronic spark unit. change the spark unit. go to repair clinic dot come for the unit. also would be wise to check the ingniter start switch on the gas burner control knob

One burner won't ignite. The electode was

Most likely its dirty meaning the burners themselves and aren't getting any gas through. If you feel lucky you can do this without turning off or unplugging the stove, but on the oft chance there is a short I would do those just to be on the safe side. If you know how lift the top part of the stove up, you did not give model number. Find the electrode and clean with a clean toothbrush, plug in see if there is a sparks, actually look for the spark first. If you have a spark then your issue is the feed to your burners or the burners themselves being clogged. The feed is like a straw should there be an obstruction than nothing passes through. Clean the burners with a pin, blow through the gas inlets that go to the burners. After cleaning retry.

I cleaned the gas top and the two left side burners do not ignite

Take the burners out, then take a needle and stick in the small hole where the gas comes thru.

Gas Range Continuous Spark

On all gas stoves/cooktops, when you switch on one burner to light, all other burner igniters will click at the same time. This is normal. Enjoy your new apartment!
