HI, My whirlpool duet dryer stopped heating up about a month ago. My husband took it apart, used one of those things that tests the parts, found the broken part and replaced it. Since then, the dryer keeps stopping (the timer skips from 50 mins to 10 mins in secs) AND what worries me the most is, I haven't needed to empty the lint trap. What has he done?
Well, well.
Am I to understand the timer dial is going really fast as you watch it?
I didn't know that was possible, but maybe the wiring has been compromised (shorted out) somehow. If so, you would need to take it all back apart and look for a wire that is pinched or incorrectly hooked up. Some Whirlpool dryers have numbers on the back of the timer that are supposed to match numbers that are actually printed on the wires themselves.
As far as the lint trap, perhaps one of the "pipes" inside the dryer is unhooked or loose causing the hot air to miss the screen.
Be blessed.

Hi and welcome to fixya,
This problem can be caused by poor air circulation inside. In order to efficiently remove lint from clothes, load the dryer 1/2 of its drum capacity. It also helps putting fabric conditioner sheets to prevent clothes from charging static electricity which can attract lint..
Hope this helps,
