Convergence Hi.. I installed a new convergence board..AA95-01799G sent by samsung being careful to cause no static discharge.. The convergence adjustment states that sensors are attached to the center of each side of the convergence mode pattern, and the sensors are required for pefect focus function.. The manual asks i use a screen jig ?.. It also asks that i make sure the deflection yoke are properly adjusted so that the center of the green red blue pattern is aligned on the center of the screen jig?.. I see nothing in the manual about adjusting the deflection yoke. (question #1).. on the convergence mode pattern should i see the sensors?.. (question #2) how do you apply the screen jig to adjust the convergence?.. (question #3 is it necessary for me to adjust this yoke?).. however i warmed up the tv and connected an av source. did nothing with the deflection yoke.. i entered the convergence mode.. the osd displayed did not show any sensors.. the green and blue pattern are bowed inward.. i can adjust left to right on these but not up and down to straighten the bow? the red is perfectly straight.. i did try perfect focus after alignining the best i could and no sensor data displayed? please help me with the knowledge you have i seem to be close.. not there yet.. thank you again for your time and patience!.. sincerely tim.

I just replaced my PCB SUB also. But cannot get perfect focus to work "No Sensor Data". Picture is slightly blurry and colors are off. I does look like the convegence is slightly off in the "Convergence Mode." Did you have any luck?

My maxent mx50hpt52 in picture is very faint what would cause this and how do i fix it

HI; MOST LIKELY CAUSE IS "Y SUSTAIN" BOARD. TRY TO FIND ONE ON EBAY. IF ATTEMPTING TO FIX THIS YOURSELF, BE VERY CAREFULL TO MAKE SURE THE POWER SUPPLY IS COMPLETELY DRAINED BEFORE REMOVING BOARD. ALSO, WHEN INSTALLING NEW BOARD, KEEP IN MIND THAT IT IS VERY SENSITIVE TO STATIC DISCHARGE, SECONDLY, CONNECT THE RIBBON CABLE ON BOTTOM RIGHT OF BOARD ONLY AFTER ALL SCREWS ARE TIGHT AND OTHER CONNECTORS ARE SEATED ( MAKE SURE THE RIBBONCABLE IS FIRMLY SEATED AND LOCKED DOWN). AFTER INSTALLATION,CONNECT SET TO A VERY GOOD SIGNAL SOURCE, AND ALLOW SET TO WARM UP FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES, THEN (USING LARGE, CLEAN MIRROR) SLIGHTLY ADJUST "SETUP AND SETDOWN" MINIATURE POTENTIOMETERS UNTILL THERE ARE NO SPARKLES.
GOOD LUCK!!

Removing the JK07132-A convergence board

Unplug TV from ac outlet for few hours, this will discharge caps in circuit boards and you can take out desired board after unplugging connectors.
Always Be Careful while doing repair in TV.

Problem with Samsung TV

SAMSUNG Convergence Problem

It looks like blue convergence. Look at menu, select convergence and see if blue top is bent down on convergence adjust screen. Probably won’t adjust.

Some Samsungs have convergence IC’s on a separate convergence board in the back of the TV. Others have the IC’s mounted on the main deflection board. Either way the board has to be removed to get at the dud IC’s and associated burnt resistors.

You remove the appropriate board, determine if any resistors are burnt or damaged, replace any burnt or out of tolerance resistors, replace 1 or 2 IC's and re-install the board.

Now you have to adjust it to look like new.

If the unit has not been misadjusted and everything is OK now, running the auto focus may put the picture back to it’s previous stunning quality, as it was before IC failed.

If after self or autofocus it is still misadjusted noticeably, try the customer convergence adjustments. Operators’ manuals are available on web through searching.

If convergence can not be adjusted properly, you messed up chip install or resistors may be wrong value or open; or it needs major adjustment.

If you live around Calgary, Alberta try me instead:

Or try to the find the repairperson part of this website (on the Homepage) and search postal code. Maybe you will be lucky and someone from your area is listed for Projection TV repair.

Most rookies doing this job will cause damage and not be successful. They will pay double for someone to fix their mess or end up scrapping the TV. It is not a simple task. It is more difficult than batteries on a remote.

Good Luck

Convergence problems

Did you buy the board new or used? It could also be your convergence Ics and not the convergence that is causing the shutdown . The convergence ICs are not located on the convergence Board.

$38 part from Sears PartsDirect took about 30 mins to install.  Part # AH92-02673A Ay pcb-front.  There are actually 2 boards to this setup, I went ahead and replaced both but the power button side of the board has some wiring that requires you to remove the disc changer which is only 4 screws and 2 screws for the piece that holds the disc above the reader.
I couldn't find an easy way to get the knob off on the front it required me to force it, nothing borke but your replacing the board anyways..
