If SD card check to see if lock slide is on. Lastly try new memory card, they're cheap nowadays.

Camera says no memory card. I have bought two new cards. cleaned all contacts. bought new batteries. card is not locked.

I googled an by a fast glimpse it seams that the camera is supporting only 4gb cards, eather way, you might want to try a smaller card to make sure that the problem isn't there. Other thing, try formating the cards. You can choose FAT32 or NTFS when doing this whit your computer. try first the FAT32 and then NTFS. If this doesn't work, see if there is a custom format option in the camera that you have to use before using a new card.

It says memory card error - card is locked But the memory card is not locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

The camera will not allow me to take pictures. It says=card is locked but I have tried three different memory cards and no luck

Make sure that you are using 2GB or less memory cards for your older camera. 4GB or higher SDHC will not work with an SD300. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position nearest the contacts enables writing, the position farthest from the contacts protects the card from writing. If the slide is already in the proper position, try sliding it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try a different card.

Memory card requires formatting- I select continue then it says "formatting will delete everything on memory card-I select "continue" then it reads "formatting" and repeates itself

1. Make sure your SD card is not locked so the camera can format the card. If the camera still cannot format the card, try to format the card with a computer. If this doesn' t work, the card may be defective.

If the computer can format the card, the put the card back in the camera and then the camera should be able to format the card. The camera MUST format the card before the camera can save to the card.
