Hello Robert, I appreciate your post!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is displaying an error code of "E64". An "E64" error code means that the heater has an open circuit this could be an issue with your heater, wiring harness, or a miscommunication within your control panel. To help clear out any miscommunications I would suggest performing a reset. You can reset the dryer by disconnecting power from it for at least ten minutes. If the reset does not help clear out the error code, you may need to seek assistance from a professional technician. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope that this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt
You have not specified Tumble dryer model so I can not say for certain that my answer is correct. Fault codes can sometimes vary depending on the platforms appliances because today some manufacturers release new models twice a year and thay have the absolutlly right to make changes and improve the efficiency of new appliances (also change fault codes).
Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your question!
An error code E64 is associated with the heater circuit in the open position. A technician would typically check the heater coils and connections for short circuits to the cabinet to determine if this is the cause of the error code. Depending on the readings, the heater and/or wiring will possibly need replacing. This is not a normal DIY job so you may want to connect with a local servicer to determine the exact diagnosis to help reduce the risk of unnecessary parts. I hope this helps explain the error code you are receiving.
Hello cordiapartin - Typically error code E64 indicates that the dryer has detected that the heater circuit is open.
