This just happened to me. I unscrewed the back (8 screws, each under a rubber pad on the back of the unit) and removed the back cover. I used a jewe;er's Phillips head screwdriver.
You will notice that when you remove the cover, the round watch battery that preserves the memory comes loose. Be sure to remove it so you can reinstall it after you replace the cover.
I didn't really do much except look around.
I pressed the reset button a few times.
I replaced the cover but not the screws. I then replaced the batteries and it worked. I cannot explain why, but it does.
Try this and see if it works for you, too!

I am having the same problem. Radio has been working fine for at least a couple of years. Batteries died and I removed them for a day or so to recharge them. When replaced, nothing happens. Screen is blank and buttons do nothing. I also tried powering with an AC adapter. I also pressed the reset button. Still nothing.
