Question about Frigidaire GLTF530DS Front Load Washer
The washer does run, it can pull water in and pump water out. The problem occurs when it gets to the rinse cycle. At that point, it pumps out the wash water, then begins the process of bringing in the rinse water at which point it just hangs in that position. Water continues to come in and the machine never goes into its rinse mode. If you shut down the unit and move the timer a bit forward it will then pick up where it should be, that is, it will finish the rinse cycle. But on its own it never gets there. The situation repeats itself on the 2nd rinse. So does that mean that the timer needs to be replaced? Is that the part I need to address this problem?
There may be a simple solution. on rinse the water level is higher. it is just possible that the water is syphoning out. try putting the drain hose higher in a swan neck

you have the drain obviously fitted correctly.
i doubt it is the timer. water level is determined by the pressure stat not the timer. leading from an air chamber towards the bottom of the machine, you should find a small diameter hose leading to the pressure stat. the fault may be the air chamber filled with gunk, the hose blocked or split or faulty pressure stat.
one way to check is to fit a sduitable hose to the pressure stat, put machine on rinse and gently put pressure into hose from mouth. you should hear clicks as the pressure stat operates and the water intake should shut off.
pls bear in mind i'm in UK not US

I do not think that is the problem. The drain hose comes right out and up and the swan neck is 6 inches above machine.
While testing to see where the problem was, I got distracted and forgot about it. Meanwhile it got stuck in that pre-rinse mode, where the water was coming in. Eventually the water filled the tub to the extent that it forced open the door and flooded the room. If the water was siphoning off, I do not think that would have happened.
I think its stuck in that mode and need to know what part needs to be replaced to restore that.
when my washing machine gets to the rinse cycle I get an E20 on the timer. What does that mean, and how do I fix that
I have a GE front loading washing machine that is 2 years old. During any of the wash cycles selected it will rinse and then pump water out, but the pump will continue to run and never shut off. It is as if it thinks there is more water to pump out, but there is little or no water left in the bottom of the machine where the screen and pump assembly is located. I have cleaned the pump discharge hose and screen and cleaned out the rubber boot assembly under the drum that leads to the pump.
the timer does not move and gets stuck at one point. without its moving forward it is not possible to wash clothes.
