SOURCE: hotpoint hss25gfph ww evaporater fan is not

You need to replace the main control board . One of the resistors , are burnt , keeping the DC voltage , from reaching the fan . Check to see if the fan will run off a little 9 volt battery . If so , replace the board . Pt # WR55X10656 . The board cannot be repaired ( with this problem ) and has to be replaced .

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

I have a frost free hotpoint and theres ice on the freezer door and the food inside it what could this be and how,do i fix it

Hallo

Frost free means there is an evaporater coil behind the backplate of the inside of your fridge.

How it works is a fan is for example installed in the lower back of your fridge and the evaporater above the fan covered by a plastic cover/steel plate and now the fan is pulling the warm air from the top over the evaporater ( the evaporater is then pulling the warm air into the evaporater without increasing the temperature of the evaporater) and dehumidify at the same time and blowing the cold air out a the bottom of the backplate while the warm air moving to the top where it could repeatedly repeat this action.

Tell me what is the condition of your freezers door seal? It can only be caused by humidity getting in so it mean the door is not sealing 100%.

What temp should my freezer be , also the fan in the top of the fridge stated making a noise when it stopped or started its cycle sounded like something was catching on the fans blades , then it stopped...

I like 0 to 10 Deg. F in the freezer.

As for the Fan. yes it could be ice or the fan blade hiting the shroud, sometimes the fan blade moves on the shaft and starts hiting the shroud.

Hotpiont ffm90 fridge not chilling

hi if the freezer appears to work and the fridge if warm, the problem is that the freezer is over frozen and blocking the vents which send cold air into the fridge when required, and the noise is the fan hitting the the ice build up,defrost (switch off)your applinace for at least 36 hours then switch back on,you will then find after the freezer reaches -12 the fridge will then start to go cold.

HSS25GFPA WW HOTPOINT REFRIG.

Please don't rate this solution because people generally don't rate well when it's bad news, even though the response is correct. When the DC evap. motor goes out, it can take out the motherboard. (located behind the small panel on back of the refrig.)

FFM90

hi The limit switch is found only on frost-free refrigerators and freezers. Its function is to keep the defrost heating element from exceeding certain set temperatures. If a refrigerator has lots of frost in the freezer compartment, the problem may be the limit switch. However, other components -- the evaporator fan, the defrost timer, and the defrost heater -- can cause the same problem. Check these for malfunctions, as detailed below. If these parts are in working condition, the problem is most likely in the limit switch. Don't try to fix the limit switch yourself; call a professional service person for replacement.
