Re: player keeps reading e-99
Changer Error Codes
? E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service.
Get a nerd to open it up and clean out all the hand-salsa inside. It may be gumming up a microswitch.

Most of these reading errors are caused by dirt on the lazer lens. You can buy a cleaning disc that should solve the problem. If it doesn't then it might be more serious such as damage to the lens itself, or an electronic fault.
I'm the same... I've been looking at everyone else doing it online and they crash aand do it really slow and still pass... but I've been doing it heaps and I just can't get past it. Got the same version as you. Wii with that cover.
Welcome to the world of Microsoft Windows Updates - late 2007-early 2008. Ever since the mid-Novemebr Windows Updates, there have a been a rash of problems with players that worked just fine previously. The protocol before was that every mp3 player was an MSD or Mass-Storage Device. Now the protocol is that most players have to be a MTP or media transfer protocol device.
Try resetting the device by inserting a small #1 paperclip into the reset hole. Hold it in for a good 15 to 20 seconds - the player will shut off and then power up again.
When you say that the firmware upgrade failed, did it fail to upgrade the firmware, or did the firmware upgrade fail to resolve the freezing issue? I know for a fact that the firmware upgrade is good on the website.
As far as the computer not recognizing the device, I have often found that restarting the computer rather than the player will resolve the issue. In fact, I had more trouble with my Rio back in 2005 than I do now. In those early days, I was always restarting my computer over and over to get it to read.
the battery is dead completely you either have to get a new battery or borrow one from someone, put the new battery in switch on the go gear plug in the chargerr then put your old battery back in (keeping the charger in and the go gear on) keep it on charge and it should be ok, i bought a job lot of em with the same fault all worked no problem after that
Yes. Open up the hatch to where the USB jack is. Either below it or on top of it is a small opening that has a small white buton there. Hold it for ten seconds with a pin or something, then see if it works. If not, download sme firmware for your ypt8. Go on the samsung site, they should have some available (it might take a little searching, though).
Hope I'm not too late!
