The eject function has failed on my head unit, is it possible if i could fix it myself and has anyone got the manuals to show me how to do it?

dont need manuals just pull apart carefully remembering where all the screws go, and use a container so none get lost .... most likely it has got jammed and then confused the logic systemfor ejection sofind the motor with the rubber band that drives the eject and check that it is still on as it is common for it to come off all models and people throw them away! happy tinkering!

CD Drive (E:) will not open

Got to My Computer, right click on you cd drive and select eject.

If that does not work there is a small pin hole on the front of the cd tray where you can insert a paper clip or something similar into to do a manual eject.

A 1991 model is not going to be very fast. I've seen internal 40-52x ones at thrift stores for 5-6 dollars. External ones under 15.00

CD stuck in player

Both times that a cd has become stuck in the player I simultaneously pushed the power and eject buttons. I came across this solution in the owner's manual and it worked perfectly both times I have had to do it.

you must force eject the cd by pressing the eject button and the power on/off/att button simultaneously and holding them. Just hold the 2 buttons at once and it should come out. look at page 2 in this users manual. Hope this helps!

Cd wont eject.

I was having the same issue with my KD-S5050. I also tried the CD eject lock reset with no results. By using the following steps I was able to reset my CD player and it is working properly again. On page two of the user manual is shows how to do a full reset of the cd receiver. While holding SEL (Select), press ATT (Standby/On Attenuator) for more than 2 seconds. This will reset the built-in microcomputer. NOTES: ? Your preset adjustments ? such as preset channels or sound adjustments ? will also be erased. ? If a CD is in the unit, it will eject when you reset the unit. Be careful not to drop the CD.
