Hi Penny Ray,

Print Shop Installer is part of the old OS9 operating system. "Classic Environment" was a form of OS-9-Lite that ran on-top of earlier versions of OS-X. It is not supported in Intel-based Macs, (and doesn't appear to be supported in OS 10.5, which is the current version).

What model Mac laptop and version of OS are you running? And more specifically, can you provide more detail about what are you hoping to print?

Please let me know when you can - thanks in-advance.

Jon

Macintosh

Here is the link to the site where you can download the driver for you DC12 the first one in the list is specifically for an Intel Mac (which is what you need)

NOTE: You may receive inconsistent output if your DC12 is NOT at system software version 1.5 SP2, however it will still work.

http://www.support.xerox.com/go/results.asp?Xlang=en_US&XCntry=USA&prodID=DC12CP&ripId=XRIP_Fiery_X12&Xtype=download

I have also included the instructions on how to add the printer to your Mac 10.5 OS

See below:

These instructions assume that TCP/IP is configured on the Macintosh and on the printer. If the printer does not have an IP address, contact your System Administrator to provide one, or to perform this solution if you do not have rights to install a print driver.
This solution assumes that the correct print driver for this product and the operating system being used has been downloaded and extracted to a known location on the hard drive. If necessary, click on the [Drivers & Downloads] link under the Product Resources section on this window to download a print driver.
To install the print driver:
  1. Browse to the location of the downloaded print driver.
  2. Double-click on the driver file. The contents of the file will be displayed.
  3. Double-click on the [Print Driver] folder. The contents of the folder will be displayed.
  4. Double-click on [OSX Installer]. The Authenticate window will be displayed.

NOTE:A warning message may be displayed that states “OSX Installer is an application downloaded from the Internet.” Click [Open] to open the installer and continue.

  5. Enter the username and password in the fields provided, and then click [OK]. The Software License Agreement window will be displayed.
  6. Read the agreement, and then click on [Accept] to continue. The OSX Installer window will be displayed.
  7. Click on [Install]. The driver will install. When the installation is complete, an ‘Installation was successful’ message will be displayed.

NOTE: A Select Printer Version to Install window may be displayed. Click [Fast] to continue the install. When the installation is complete, an "Installation was successful" message will be displayed.

  8. Click on [Quit] to complete the installation.
To add the printer:
  1. Click on the [Apple] icon in the upper left corner of the toolbar, and then select [System Preferences] from the menu. The System Preferences window will be displayed.
  2. Double-click on [Print and Fax] folder. The Print and Fax window will be displayed.
  3. Click on the [+] button located on the left side of the window below the Printersfield. A new window will be displayed.
  4. Click on the [IP] icon at the top of the window, and then select [Line Printer Daemon - LPD] from the Protocol pull-down menu.
  5. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field.
  6. Enter a queue name of Print, Hold, or Direct in the Queue field. The queue name must be entered in lower case letters.
  7. If necessary, enter a name for the printer in the Namefield.
  8. Select [Select a driver to use…] from the Print Using menu. A list of printer models will be displayed.
  9. Select the correct printer model from the list, and then click on [Add]. The Installable Options list will be displayed.
  10. Select the installable options that are present on the printer, and then click on [Continue]. The printer will be displayed in the Printer List field.

NOTE:If you are not sure what the options are, contact your System Administrator.

The default printer is indicated in the Printer List field. The last printer added will automatically be the default unless otherwise changed.

  11. Click on the red [X] button in the upper, left corner to close the Print and Fax window and return to the desktop.
I hope this gets you where you need to be with your DC12. :o)

Upload latest western europe map v7.20 to TOMTOM 700 not possible

I have managed to solve the problem of loading a new map on my Go700 using a Mac. I discovered that Tomtom is incompatible with the Leopad operaying system, despite the protestations of the idiots at Tomtom ,so I reverted to an older Mac using Tiger.
Taking the instructions given to crinold, I tried to erase the disc on the 700 using home 1.5 - and it didn't work. So I went to disc utilities, highlighted and erased the Tomtom disc, and opened home 2,5. After being refused entry several times, like being told to load an already loaded device, I persevered, and managed, slowly, to add the map I had bought for 78 euros. T]One point oif interes is that when I bought the map, they site stated it would cost 63 pounds sterling, but switched it to euros when the invoice arrived. at a rate very favourable to Tomtom - funny, that.
This is sharp practice, probably illegal in many countries,, but, to be honest, dealing with the mysterious Tomtom company is so frustrating, that I don't have the time or inclination to fight them for the money they cheated from me.
How they survive with such an awful product and extremely bad after sales service is hard to understand - perhaps they won't ... we live in hope.
