either the phone got wet or its just a bad phone. i would call the company and see to get a replacement model, that is if it is under its warranty of two years.
Holding the device so that the ear piece part is pointing towards you, locate a little raised arrow on the top of the device, just below the battery cover.
The arrow points to a little hole, which you need to push something sharp like a pen point into. This should release the cover, which you can now slide off.
Mine did not release so easily, so I also used a flathead screwdriver (a pretty small one, only about a 1/3 inch wide) to drive in between the body and the battery cover, twisting it off as I pushed a pen into the little hole.
Should work fine. Now you just need to get those weird lithium batteries it uses!
I have everything connected plugged in and batteries all I'm getting is the picture of the bookman on "itself" with the arrow point toward plug in to the top usb port ????
