Screen shows loading

well this typically means that either then lens has gotten dirty, or the circuitry controlling the lens is defective. (If it cannot read any disks).

These tiny dvd players can also warp and the CD's may be getting scratched just by spinning inside and not reading as a result of an uneven spin. Maybe it got left on the dashboard of your car for a weekend and is all out of shape, who knows.

You can attempt to clean the laser lens with rubbing alcohol and a qtip. Use very little rubbing alcohol and be gentle, make sure its dry before powering on also.

I wouldn't recommend spending a lot of money on this project, portable dvd players are borderline expendable electronics they just expect you to throw it away. Looks like you could get the same model on ebay for 60 - 80 bucks.

It won't press the button even though the power is on

Since you don't indicate what you mean by "won't work", let me provide a few possibilities:

1) You close the door and you can hear the DVD spin, but no reaction on the screen other than some type of "loading" message. This indicates that the optics are attempting to read the DVD but are having difficulties. The operation may ultimately be successful and the DVD may start, but the movie will be unwatchable because of freezes etc. In this case, try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. A dirty lens can cause this.

2) You close the lid and do not hear the DVD spin. In this case, the optics can not even determine that a disc is in the machine. Again attempt to clean the lens. If that fails to at least cause the disc to spin, the optics have failed and need to be replaced.

3) Try a music CD. If that plays OK, but a DVD does not, then the optics are defective and need to be replaced. DVDs require a more powerful laser and will typically fail sooner than CD levels.

Hope this helps,

Dan

Everything powers on, it plays dvd's cd's and the radio but the screen won't come on and the little square at the bottom keeps flashing.

Hi.

That usually means that there is no video connection.

Check the video connections to displays and check the video connection at the back of the main DVD unit.

Regards.

Code H02

Your DVD player is having an issue with the spindle motor (the thing that spins the DVD around). The following solution works for most people, and you should only have to do this once.

  1. Unplug the DVD player.
  2. Take the cover off.
  3. Place a disc on the spindle.
  4. Put a little pressure on the disc (so it doesn't slip) and spin it around a few times.
  5. Remove the disc, reassemble, and plug back in.
  6. Try to play a DVD.
  7. Report back if this solved your problem, or if more troubleshooting is needed.

Coby DVD shows Invalid Disc HELP PLEASE

Did you make the disk if you made the disk your computer has to give it a digital signature so the DVD player can read it if you're using a regular DVD then I would very carefully using rubbing alcohol and Q tip clean the actual laser I would be very careful doing this if too much rubbing alcohol is on the Q tip it will ruin the laser you can also try resetting the DVD player by taking out the battery and unplugging it from any power source and leave it that way for at least 20 seconds to a minute if that doesn't work you might have something else wrong

Dvd-rom driver not working on toshiba satellite A65-S126 laptop

Ok here is the thing. the driver that you are referring to is native to the XP operating system. Meaning the driver is embedded. If the CD/DVDROM comes up under my computer that means only 1 thing. The driver is ok. if you have tried more than 1 CD and the drive still does not read it., it means only 1 thing. The drive is defective. if you use an external drive via USB you should not have any problems. If you do then you will need to reload Windows but that will be an unlikely event.

Panasonic DVD-RP56 Error H02

I read about removing the cover and spinning the motor by hand. It was suggested without power. I found that I had to have the unit powered up when I hand-spun the motor, then everything worked perfectly... we'll see for how long.
