I have a RZ9400, the problem is that i can't turn a volume up using the Volume knob, I can only turn it down. only a remote control is able to do this. The remote control can turn up or down the volume. can anyone tell me if this is normal? i've trying to track-down for people who have this type of receiver, but it seems like no one have it!

SOURCE: Sansui tv/vcr combo is stuck on highest volume.
If you have the remote, have you tried it ?
Have you tried the volume button on the front of the set ?
If neither the remote or the button will work, then you may have a problem with the microprocessor IC (system control). If this is the case, then the set might not be economical to repair.
Perhaps the volume "up" button is stuck ?

SOURCE: Low volume on playback
The volume control on the TV does not affect the recording. However, if you were recording from a set top box, and you turned the volume down on the box and not the TV, then this would cause the problem you describe.
If this is the case, then try to keep the STB volume at maximum and only use the TV volume control.
Also, some DVD players and VCRs have a lower output than the standard TV tuner, so an increase in volume is usually needed.
You might want to try some test recordings to see what happens.

It sounds like the button is stuck. Take the remote apart if you can and see if the key is stuck somewhere. This happened to me once with a rubber key type of remote. It drove me crazy.

Can you let me know if you still have this remote control. Mine has buttons busted too but if you cant use yours...can I have it please for parts?
This Tv is not up to much by todays standards anyway and most people are just chucking them out now.
What will you do with yours I wonder?
